Jones is more of a cm and Elliott’s an attacker.

Rashford dropped apparently. Don’t agree with that one, he’s one of the few players that actually scores goals for England and could be a really useful option from the bench.

But Southgate’s never been the biggest fan of his so it’s not that surprising, given his poor form.

Don’t think Rashford can have any complaints. There’s a number of more in form and arguably better English attackers around.

He could justify Rashford based off previous England performances, to be fair.

I’d actually start Gordon, but I do think Rashford could have been really useful to get a goal off the bench. Grealish isn’t exactly gonna do that unless he dives for a pen for Kane to miss.

Wharton’s rise has been incredible. Might not make the actual squad, but it’s impressive to be in the provisional squad when he was playing in the Championship for Blackburn only a few months ago.

Perhaps a lesson there for United. Our midfield is poor anyway so getting in a player from there with the attributes couldn't make it any worse!

Good to see Quansah rewarded. He has put Konate on the bench this season and has looked really impressive for us all season minus the Bruno goal mistake. Will also give the backline some much needed pace so England can play a higher line.

Could be an option. Not sure it’s something we’ll go with having not experimented with it before.

Does he do well for England? Never seen him turn up when it matters. Yes scores against Wales but has always been a bench player for Southgate.

17 goals (yes I did check) for England and he always looks a threat. Pace scares the s.it out of tired defenders. Of course Gordon will now give that but can he deliver?

Henderson is a weird one because by all accounts he's brilliant with the inexperienced lads around camp. He's also good at motivating those benched so even though he's not a starter, I'd worry about him not going at all from a leadership perspective. I guess if you're not offering much on the pitch, that's it. Become a coach.

Rashford doesn’t deserve to be called up but no way I can support scarecrow Gordon or worse-than-Antony Grealish instead!

I know you weren't suggesting Stirling goes but does he deserve a place? 29 years old and has done it at tournaments.

May be the beginning of the end for Marcus at Utd too unless he can get his sheite together during the summer.

Hopefully this gives Rashford a kick up the aris for the final.

I imagine that front 4 starts and then Foden gets dropped for Gordon by the time we get to the knockouts

I guess fitness may be a concern about Rashford, as well as form.

Definitely hard to justify his inclusion when you look at the form and attributes that Gordon and Eze can bring from the same position + Foden most likely to find a place in the team from that side of the pitch (given Bellingham and Saka will occupy the central and right of the attack, respectively).

I think Rashy's last chance is if a new manager comes in and can finally unlock some consistency from him. Otherwise he will be most remembered for helping the kids with free meals

I'm surprised he's only gone with 4 fullbacks in the provisional when he's just said Shaw is a long shot to make the final 26

I guess Konsa can play RB but still not having a left footed LB option is a shame
