It's just been their year. Had a lot of breaks go their way and Chris Wood decided to be R9 for 5 months for first time in his career.
I suspect they will fall away next year and finish 9th - 12th something like that.

Emery also goes a bit weird in big games and makes some horrendous decisions - reminds me of Poch playing Son at left back in an FA cup semi against Chelsea

Yet they took 4 points off Liverpool. Like I said before, Forest have benefitted from other teams being below par, but that's not just it, they have been solid enough and many players have had great seasons for them.
So they have took advantage of the circumstances whilst others have failed to. And even thought they lost 2-0 yesterday, they had good chances
I wasn't confident Rashford would make the move permanently either way but with no CL football......I genuinely don't see it. Villa need to regroup to get top 5 now. Personally I think they may just miss out.
Thing with Forest and Newcastle.....they haven't had European football to contend with this season which have given them both a real advantage fitness wise.
Much tougher for both next season juggling games every few days.
Genuinely think people are misreading Forest. Their owners have the ambition to evolve them as a team. They did so this season from relegation fodder to Europe contenders, and can do so further if the qualify for the CL.

None of the traditional big sides are ever too far away from challenging for CL places, one good window or manager clicking is all it takes. Hell sometimes this has delivered a surprise title challenger
The league on average has improved, United and Spurs have obviously been massively underpar but you have a lot of top to decent sides at the moment, not just a "top four" that's miles above the rest.
United and Spurs will do very well to crack the top seven next season from where they are now. United are probably in the most trouble and apparently broke. I think with the right manager Spurs could turn things around with the right signings.

It can be done but it's pretty unlikely for United who have so much wrong mentally as well as quality wise. We'll see what happens but Forrest are likely having an anomaly of a season and without shrewd investment will fall back.
Think a lot of fans are currently doing mental gymnastics to cope with Liverpool winning in a very tough league. It's a shame no one pushed them but that is also because they never gave anyone the chance.

Our goals against column is very similar to teams between 4th and 6th actually.
Our issue all season has been scoring goals. If we sign 2/3 quality forward players (Top striker + Cunha for example) we will be a lot better off than you think.
Don't forget we have taken 4pts off City, got a really good draw away to Liverpool and knocked Arsenal out of the cup on their own pitch this season alone. With a much better forward line up we'd be in and around the CL chasing clubs for sure.

Forest went from 15th to 3rd in one season. It can be done and you're massively overrating how good the PL is right now also.
It's more competitive because a lot of the big teams have dropped off really more so than the others who have got a lot better.

United don't have funds and the squad looks a long way off.
