Looking like £60m + £5m in add ons, apparently MGW wants a ‘new challenge’, the deal seems to be progressing very quickly.
Best we can hope is City come in for him, and there is a bidding war, as we paid £45m for him, and Wolves had a decent sell on clause,
There is very little money in this move for Forest.
He still has two years left on his contract, basically, make him honour it.

We’ve had him for 3 seasons, he was at Sheff U when we beat them in the play off semi finals, he actually missed the decisive penalty, when on load from Wolves.
We paid £45m for him, Wolves a 15% sell on clause, so we will basically make about £12m on a player who we have transformed from a Championship player to an England international. Unfortunately he has a £60m release clause, and it looks like Spurs are going to activate it.
Not sure he fair any better than the likes of Maddison, or Johnson, neither of which have set the football world on fire since their move.
Really disappointing from a Forest point of view, as we’ve now sold two of our biggest assets.

WTF? 60m is an absolute steal. Why was his release clause so low? He's such a good player. I'm amazed others aren't in for him at that price. Given Forest paid Wolves around 40m, this isn't really the kind of price you'd expect to sell at. What's going on at Forest. They've just qualified for Europe and they're selling two of their best players.

I think he's far better than that. He scores goals, makes goals and he works like an rabid dog in midfield. 60m is a steal as far as I'm concerned.

Does feel like two good signings for Spurs after a sensible managerial appointment, but we've been here before with Spurs only for players to inexplicably flop

Makes me wonder what will happen to Bergvall now. If you assume we play three in midfield then one will be a defensive midfielder, likely Gray, then you've got MGW and then Maddison. You can't leave any of them out. It's a great problem to have but MGW is a similar profile to Bergvall.
