Very creditable performance from us

Amazing what happens when the team spend the majority of the game facing the opposition goal.

Never mind that. We’re back

Again?

Got away with that today. Not a great performance but we ground out the result and ultimately points on the board is the most important thing at this point. Danilo will be like a new signing for us if he can stay fit.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

The pen was a combo of a slip and a tired tackle from Baron who was MotM IMO.

Other than that Butland didn’t have loads to do.

Aaron’s pash as usual, Raskin disappointing and Gassama and Aasgaard did nowt when they came on.

Chermiti ‘ok’ without still really looking like footballer.

Thought Djiga was good and Meghoma up until his booking for doing absolutely nothing 😂

Hope Brendan enjoyed watching our game tonight, although probably far too attacking for him. Leaving Trusty out for Tynie looks even more ridiculous now. Even Osmand looked quite sharp, another he’d forgotten about.

Honestly, reverse psychology would have worked a treat on him.

“Hey Brendan. I think you should leave Trusty out of the team.”

“I’ll show you!”

Dose.

Hear what you say, but a first clean sheet away in how long? and an away win and two in a row, perhaps sometimes players look pash but can still be effective

I think atb this stage it’s about getting some results. Hopefully international break will allow him some time to change things.

Until then, grinding out results is wholly acceptable.

Let’s be honest, he’s inherited a team low on confidence and players who don’t currently fancy it, defending like a Russel Martin side.

Bit of an odd game for me tonight. The press from our forwards was dreadful, especially early on. Falkirk were getting a lot of room out wide, and better teams will really exploit that.

Thought all of the players got pass marks at least. Saracchi was really good, Nygren is an enigma- 2 assists, a goal, yet could have had more and then there’s so many poor passes etc. Was just good to see the players putting real effort in.

Still not convinced we can do much on Sunday.

You’ll certainly get chances

I won’t blame Rohl for that though, you can’t fix that overnight.

Don’t get me wrong - the result was terrific for us and the high level view of our collective performance was really good. Would bite your hand off for a scrappy 1-0 away at any top six team no matter the circumstances. Given the context of this season it is a terrific result.

It’s very positive to see Rohl trying different things and still eeking out results. There are clearly big issues with the squad but the last couple of games has given us a small bit of encouragement that whilst he’s working on selection, formations and individual players, Rohl might be able to keep us in touch with Celtic and, like tonight, chip away at Hearts lead.

And if we can get the 2 or 3 signings in January that give us a big lift then who knows.

I am not saying for a second we are fully in the mix for a title race but we are up to third now and seem to have stumbled upon a manager who isn’t a complete clown like Martin.

====================

this is going to be a very messy season for celtic, with only a 5 point lead on rangers at the moment i'm not convinced they cant catch up.

If we appoint a new manager then the players then have to adapt to that while maintaining league form, it just seems unlikely that there wont be bumps in the road, the squad is weak,

"Brugge boss has refused to rule out a move to Celtic"

Aim high at least before fvcking it up if it ever gets to sitting round a table.

Getting managers already in a job, especially one as high profile as the Brugge manager mid season extremely difficult.

MON will be here a lot longer than he expected methinks.

i think there needs to be more to the brugge boss tbh.

their whole setup behind the scenes is different from what we offer, good luck to anyone who comes in.

its the weakest link known.. he wasnt asked about the celtic job or anythng it was in relation to another job he was linked with and he said he is happy at Brugge.

Daily record run the headline "he refuses to rule out a move to celtic"

Sounds about right.

Brugge are doing very well in the chmp league just now, he just signed a new contract. Brugge are levels above celtic on the park and he has 3 years on his deal so a fairly big compo package would be needed.

I think this basically spawned from Open Goal and Si Ferry saying he would like him.

posted 3 days, 19 hours ago

actually thought Brugge had won more than just the one game in the champ league, so scratch that... but they are in it.
