Carlo gets under-appreciated because he never presented himself as an intellectual with a "philosophy" for the hipsters to fawn over. Plus a perception he always works with the best players.

But I think there's a lot of managers who get unstuck managing big egos and strong dressing rooms, and he is almost a specialist at getting the most out of them.

Including for us for about six months.

Assuming we're stuck with Pep Jr — I wonder if the board will listen to his request for us to sign more experienced players.

Keep complaining Enzo

Either it gets you fired or we get the players we need. Either way win win

He's the one true pragmatist

People like Mourinho & Simeone get the label & it's not strictly accurate. They enjoy winning a certain way (being counter culture), it's just the other side of the same coin to the likes of Bielsa & Pep.

Ancelotti might be top 3 but 4th-5th feels more fitting. It's hard to put him above Sacchi & Capello cos both their Milan teams were more memorable than his. He does have good arguments though.

Eh Capello cant touch Carlo in Europe

Id also never for a second consider Capello over Jose whereas Carlo is in that argument

Well Capello was Jose before Jose. He was like the Rangnick (had the modern interpretation of the ideas) and Jose was the Klopp (popularized them with his personality)

All this depends how much value you place on certain things. I wouldn't begrudge anyone if they had Ancelotti 1st, he's got some seruous accolodes - only manager to win the top 5 leagues in his time is no joke.

Nottingham Forest manager Nuno Santo:

🗣 "Players are on fire to play the game [against Chelsea] so the message is to stick to the task. Recognise it is a tough team to play against and enjoy and play the game like we always do."

Nuno Santo has confirmed that Murillo is still being assessed after injuring his ankle at West Ham and has not been able to train.

What and miss out all the excitement of buying no one we need all window before on the last day reinforcing positions we have 15 players for, and selling players who actually complement our team? Wouldn't change it for the world!

Joking aside I hope we don't fook around, cos I dont need ANOTHER season of finding out

Todd Boehly on Chelsea's summer transfer window-

"We're not looking at it as a spend, we look at it as an investment. We're trying to build the best portfolio of players that can perform at the highest level for the longest periods of time.

"We're not looking at it as a spend, we look at it as an investment. We're trying to build the best portfolio of players that can perform at the highest level for the longest periods of time.

"We have some players that are joining us (at the Club World Cup) that weren't on the team," said Boehly, "(like) Andrey Santos, we're really excited about him and what he can add to the squad."

Imo, this comment says it all, Its all about investment.

But to what end, for what purpose?

To build a team that will compete at an elite level?

or to build the portfolio?

Nothing like a group of billionaires , who will not accept that they have not as yet after 3 seasons got it right.?

I look forward to the day that these people eat a little humble pie and change the strategy by a few degrees.

Portfolio of players rather than a portfolio of trophies.

It couldn't be clearer where the priority is with these khants.

Yeah Sutton hates us. Probably because he was embarrassingly bad for us. If you didn't see his time here then you dodged a bullet.

We've had a few bad strikers though...eh

He started the trend though and lowered the bar to a level nobody has been able to match since though.

When a Chelsea striker flops it's called doing a Chris Sutton

Was Sutton the first big money striker flop for us? He was my first, dunno if he was the OG.

Chelsea are interested in Brighton forward Joao Pedro, with the player keen to talk to bosses at Stamford Bridge if the two clubs can agree a fee for him.

Can't think of any before. We signed him for £10 million which was a a lot of money in 1999. Probably close to £80 million + in today's money
