We hate and fear what we don't understant
.................
the more i read of the koran and bible, the more fear the people who think these are true stories.
---------------------
that is why you should educate yourself more. Do you take every story u read in the bible on face value?Or is there a deeper meaning to it?
Well why do you choose to believe what you read in a book Ginger ?
I saw Derran Brown catch a bullet in his mouth, live on tv, I didn't see Jesus turn water into wine, but I know, because I have a mind of my own, that neither is possible.

Or maybe how not to give up hope under extreme circumstances?
--------------------------------
or maybe about how to take your unruly son in front of the town elders and how to stone him to death?
====================================
Well it was that way in the society then and Christianity came and changed it. Though it couldn't stop our ancestors from conducting public executions, etc..

So God decided that the best way to get through to the uneducated masses 2000 years ago was to speak in code?
Ancestors ! They still do it in many countries ! They may not be Christians but they are religious !
"What? Just...what?
------------------
jesus never existed probably. not hard to understand if you speak english?"
-----
Why are you insulting me? Not really necessary is it.
He DID exist. As a person this is indisputable. Whether he was the son of God is another thing entirely, but to argue he never existed is ridiculous.
This. Knowledge is one of the only sure fire ways of reducing ignorance & hatred.
A lot of the reason people dislike religion and religious people is purely because they don't understand it, or have their preconceived notions, or misguided views based on snippets of texts.
----
its not that i dont understand it, its just that when i see people wasting their life with religion i think why do you do it? what benefits can it possibly have for you sitting on a mat preying for hours.
starving yourself for a month.
forcing your women to cover their entire body with clothing.
wearing a turban..
not eating meat.
not touching alcohol.
certain cultures only marrying their own cultures and literally look down on others.
i know this from personal experience, i work with a lot of Nepalese people, they all tell me if their children brought home a white person they'd kick him/her out.
its just weird in my eyes and completely pointless and just creates hatred for NO fecking reason.

Religion IS bollx. Pure and simple.
Strike me down mighty one ! If I am not here as of tomorrow you will know GOd exists as I will have been spaghettified !!
====================================
If I were you I'd cut out hatred. It's more likely to strike you down than your hatred of religion.
I believe jesus existed, just wasnt tbe son of god

There probably was a human around that time called Jesus. Big deal. Just a normal Jewish man !
Then a great story was created and it must be great to have survived this long.
Jesus saves, but Chicarito scores the rebound.

He might well have existed, and I think he's been born and risen again, by this time his name is Dynamo, because he too can walk on water!
What a friend we have in Jesus...

No we don't! He was a very naughty boy!
Do you take every story u read in the bible on face value?Or is there a deeper meaning to it?
,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
no there is no deeper meaning to:
When a man sells his daughter as a slave, she will not be freed at the end of six years as the men are. If she does not please the man who bought her, he may allow her to be bought back again. But he is not allowed to sell her to foreigners, since he is the one who broke the contract with her. And if the slave girl's owner arranges for her to marry his son, he may no longer treat her as a slave girl, but he must treat her as his daughter. If he himself marries her and then takes another wife, he may not reduce her food or clothing or fail to sleep with her as his wife. If he fails in any of these three ways, she may leave as a free woman without making any payment. (Exodus 21:7-11 NLT)
the fact of the matter is i am much more educated than you are on this topic and have drawn my own conclusions, instead of spouting total drivel like you do.

This is part of the history of Christianity was actually relevant at the time it was written. You may find it absurd right now but the instruction probably helped some people at the time.
