Certainly a better achievement than what Ole did at Molde
......
No it isn't.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Poch has Spurs qualifying every season for the CL, doing to places like Dortmund and winning, outplaying Barcelona in their own backyard, beating Real, smashing United and Liverpool and having the second best away record in all of Europe in 2018
And to add to that he had zero money to spend this summer just gone
I have doubts about his ability to bottle but how much of that is down to having to play home games at Wembley every week and zero money to spend? Even with that they’re ahead of City as we speak
Brilliant manager
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He also in a league surrounded by money, even if spurs haven’t spent as much as competitors.
I’d like to see how he’d do if in ole’s shoes in molde. Who knows?
There is no guarantee poch will be good here..
Ole has actually won more than him..
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Poch has spent absolutely nothing this summer and is ahead of City in the table and qualified for the next round of the CL
That in itself is a great achievement
As for Molde, Poch is exactly the type of manager you’d expect to go to Molde and get players playing better than they do under other coaches
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Perhaps. But he still hasn’t won anything. Did he win with saints or espanyol?
For all the prem snobbery of the Norwegian league, arguably ole is achieved more than what poch has done by getting a tiny team with no budget through a europa league group consisting of teams that are much bigger, and have beaten us.
Poch could have done something similar (easier given the teams budgets) with saints or espanyol but didn’t.

To be part of the big boys you have to add some silverware to your CV. Like it or not, that is how you gain that true winning mentality and build up your managerial status. Even Ole has managed to get Molde to win the league. Prior to his arrival they were often floating around in the league.
So in 10 years time, no one will be remembering Spurs for being above City - especially when the season isn't even over yet.
We can sit and talk about it night and day, only time will tell. We don't know how good OGS is, so of course other managers have a better CV in management.
Everybodg can agree that if OGS does a great job he probably deserves a shot, he's started exactly how a United manager should. The only box he doesn't tick is expdrience, so let's enjoy the experience.

The one concern i have with Poch is, how would he handle under intense pressure at a fishbowl club like United.
Hypothetical scenario question...
How would Poch handle this - United 2/3 points ahead of their nearest competitors at the top of the league and there is 4 games to go?
He's been used to chasing the leading pack all this time. I don't want to get into quarrels about him falling short, just highlighting a point.
-----
A fair point. Ole understands the pressure associated with United and has delivered on the biggest stage, albeit as a player.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes Ole does, even if it was experienced as a player.
But Ole was always one of the smart players that took notice of what the opposition did.
-------
SAF said that he was so dangerous off the bench becuae he watched every second of the game and studied the opposition. He knew where the space would be and how to hurt the opposition once he got on the pitch.

Yes this is your new crusade. You don't have a very good record at this kind of thing, though.

4. Plays good attacking football.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
I loved finding that out about him. It shows the early stages of the managerial foundations about him.
And to learn from the master, tops it all.
-------
Sure I read the other day that he started taking notes on SAF at the age of about 31 and how he managed certain situations.

wanted our next manager to be about trophies then I’d want Zidane but I feel Poch to be more of what we need
....
Yes this is your new crusade. You don't have a very good record at this kind of thing, though.
The kind of manager I am looking for us to hire is.
1. Understands the club
2. Willing to use the youth.
3. Knows how to win stuff.
4. Plays good attacking football.

Until he does anything he has done with Spurs will be of little consequence
——————
One of the dumbest things you’ve ever said so well done
-----
So would you take Redknapp as our manager? Because as it stands he has progressed Spurs and achieved about as much as Harry did.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If you really believe that then you’re utterly insane
-----
What has he done that is so much bether than what Harry did? Sure he has maintained slightly higher positions, but he had a better starting point than Harry. And Harry managed a CL quarter final too.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Ask a single Spurs fan who they think was the better manager and you’d be shocked to find none of them rate Redknapp higher.
------
No answer to the question then?
