Also if there are more important things then why did you create an article about it you mess?

You beat me to it.

That statement is being criminally misused on here.

A season completed not in accordance with the accepted rules, regulations and standards set out before it begins, can only be considered illegitimate and would carry zero credence or acceptance.

That's good because the season will be completed in accordance with the accepted rules, regulations and standards set out by it's owners, just like any other enterprise.

Yes and also it's fine to start a new season but not to complete the current one when the new one would likely be starting at the same time the current one would. When it is safe to do so.

It's embarrassing them trying to hide the real reason.

No it will not, it can not possibly be, its gone way beyond what is fair and right, and the integrity has been compromised.

The integrity was compromised the minute Mourinho returned to the premier league.

Yeah, when you unpeel the layers there's actually no sound reasoning behind it. Its just to stop Liverpool which is actually pretty pathetic really. No sportsmanship whatsoever.

My team will gain an unfair advantage if the league should resume, so why would I be `desperate`. I am just applying a modicum of common sense to the whole situation.

Most of those who follow clubs with something to lose are the desperate ones pal

It is surreal isn't it.

We literally have 'fans' begging for less football

Your team would also get CL football if the season was voided. Something that won’t happen if it’s resumed.

UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin admits the current season could be "lost" if it is unable to re-start by the end of June

"There is a plan A, B and C. The three options are to start again in mid-May, in June or at the end of June, if we don't succeed, the season will probably be lost," he said

You're doing it again, so blinkered.

I have no doubt that Liverpool would have won the league this season but I don't think under the circumstances the world has found itself in the season will be completed.

I believe the decision to cancel the remainer of the games below the National league is the beginning of the end for this season in total.

As I keep saying its a perfectly reasonable thing to think.

This has already been covered here.

You left out some of the context. So convenient.

he also suggested

However, he then added: "There is also the possibility of starting again at the beginning of the next, starting the following one later. We will see the best solution for leagues and clubs."

Tbf I thought that must be breaking news as that's the first I'd heard about it. A quick Google into the full article shows none of of what he's said (in full) changes anything

Yeah, to be fair that comment is being circulated out of context to sucker people in. I would have reached the same conclusion as you.

I find it fascinating the FA have declared the really lower leagues null and void yet clearly waiting to last possible minute to do same for the revenue generating ones

Sorry, I haven't read the previous responses. But I think the season should be completed. It's already two thirds to three quarters through. I don't see how you can just write that off. And I also think it would be completely unfair to just end the season as it is now and finalise that. For one thing, Sheffield United have a game in hand against Villa that is crucial at both ends of the table.

I think not setting a deadline on the current season is absolutely the right thing to do. If it takes til next May, then so be it. That seems fairer and preferable than playing 4 games a week on neutral territory behind closed doors to me.

From a personal point of view, much as I'd find it funny if Liverpool didn't get the title, writing off this season will also hurt my own club, United. And that's more important to me. We're 5th in the league and on great form. A cup quarter final to come. And almost certainly a Europa League quarter final to come. There's still a lot for us to play for. And I don't want that written off

I suppose the big problem is with contracts running out, transfer windows etc and potential legal challenges . But that will be a huge problem, how ever things are done
