Good business by Spurs from what I can see.
they probably are right too
After these dodgy deals, no world class player would like to come to Tottenham..
A sordid state of affairs, but I find it difficult to sympathise with a Sugga Daddy FC whose wage inflation also inflated the ego of a player who ain't as good as his wages would suggest.
With Levy in the mix too, it just adds insult to injury.
City desperate to get him off the pay sheet,Tottenham desperate for a striker, there has to be a deal in there somewhere,Arry would have put that to bed weeks ago.

Serves them right for signing the likes of ade and santa cruz on messi money.
Can't fault their logic, but you can question their business sense for not realising they had absolutely no bargaining power due to excessive wages and a need to get him off their books
Fatso is really wound up today..
I am leaving as i don't want to upset him too much.
"Basically they want a player who scored the goals that took them to fourth place in the Premier League last season for nothing"

Exactly - they just need to look at Chelsea's struggles with Veron and Bogarde (and others)
Yep, it's all very well enticing players in on huge salaries, but it's another thing getting them back off the books when they've served their purpose

I find the filter gets rid of 99% of pondlife Gavlar
If he want's to leave on a free then give him to a middle-eastern or Russian team.

Doubt they envisaged the strops etc occurring as they did. No doubt they were planning on a Tevez / Adebayor combo serving them well for some time (which on paper is hardly rubbish is it) .

Trouble is, when you pay mercenary wages to get people in you don't get loyalty, add to that the egos they brought in and it was a recipe for trouble...they should have taken that into account at the very least.

Therein lies the problem. If he don't wanna go there, he ain't (I assume the same is true for loan outs too) .
Place your faith in the basic desire to still play regular football at the top flight, as opposed to being hell-bent on bleeding you til the end of his contract.

I wouldn't generalise like that.
I could see RVP going to <Citeh> on such money and still conducting himself in the manner he has at Arsenal.

Oh I could never filter Muffy.
I like to see him surpass his latest levels of stupid on a daily basis

My stupidity threshold was crossed many moons ago with him. When it stops being funny and you start fearing for his ability to cope without constant supervision...you know it's time to filter
