ESR has been unfortunate with injuries, the time he would've started he got injured, Vieira came on the other day instead of him as he needed game time also the injury to martinelli messed things up

Thats not right. Arteta uses Vieira quite a bit as a backup to Saka. I suppose he is assessing if Vieira is worth keeping in a Bernardo sort of role. ESR is really a no.8 in Arteta eyes now imo.

Ramsdale has been good for us and did well, but the team has evolved so we have gone with Raya to fit our style, Raya won't be the long term goalkeeper either, he will be replaced too in a few years.
Martinez if he would've stayed would've been replaced too.

Emi's best attributes are his command of the box and distribution. imo Ramsdale was always weak in both those skill sets. Young enough to improve, but not good enough nonetheless. It's why I believe Arteta took Raya on loan.

As for the future? Raya is a major component in the best defence in the Premier League. And not just for a season. They are setting some historical records. I think he is there for the long term if he can maintain his form to the end of the season tbh.

Raya doesn't come close to Allison or Eddison, I think we need a goalkeeper of that quality.

We have the best defence, not because of Raya's shot stopping but the system we are playing that limits any attempts to our goal, while his distribution is A1, when we do get shots he hasn't really saved us like Ramsdale did

True I don't rate Raya's shot stopping. But what's just as important is the chemistry with the defenders and not ballsing up pressure situations. He did a bit against Porto which is why I still a few doubts and say it will depend on how he finishes the season.

As J99 says, best defence in the league and Raya is part of that - albeit I agree, he's not as good as them.

Tbh GK is sorted now, I think there are 3 or 4 positions we'd focus on ahead of keeper - striker, CM cover, left back

Quite possibly Timber yeah, he looks like a good mix of Zinny's abilities on the ball and White's defensive abilities off it. Hopefully he is not broken.

we need a saka cover

I think we should keep Jesus as that player and use Havertz as plan B to our new striker next season.

Also we need a CM not a CM cover, we were short of one anyway. Remember we have more CL games next season
