Thankfully, it's much, much harder to obtain guns in the UK. I'll tell you this now DJ. If guns were as available in the UK as they are over here, you'd be swamped with gun related crime. 10 times worse than in the USA, probably.

and guess who rules those areas too

What does that mean wolfie?

United nations office of drugs and crime homicide statistics for 2013 - http://www.unodc.org/documents/data-and-analysis/statistics/crime/Homicide_statistics2013.xls

Homicides per 100,000:

UK 1.2
US... 4.7

You are nearly four times more likely to die of homicide in the US than the UK...FACT.

Other places you are less likely to be murdered than the US include Palestine, India, Cambodia, Mozambique, Iran...oh what's this little treat here ...AND Iraq and Afghanistan

And what's this we have here...oh look! (http://economicsandpeace.org/research/iep-indices-data/global-peace-index) It's the results of the IEP's respected global peace index which takes into account such important statistics as Level of perceived criminality in society, Level of violent crime, Likelihood of violent demonstrations, Number of jailed persons per 100,000 people and Ease of access to small arms and light weapons.

And what does this index tell us? Oh, look at that! The UK places 44th. Is the US twice as unpeaceful...nuh uh It is slightly more than twice as unpeaceful with a rank of 99.

Maybe time to consider moving somewhere more peaceful boys? How about Burkina Faso? Haiti? Dominican Republic? Trinidad? Brazil? Bosnia? Kosovo? Nicaragua? Sierra Leone? Jordan?

Take your absolute garbage elsewhere. Want to debate properly? Fine. Want to use four year old Daily Mail stories? Go and talk to yourself.

More crimes than homicide Ulf, figured you knew that.

The reality is that despite the high gun issues, is it like 30,000 murders? 20,000 of which are gang related, so the reality is you would be incredibly unlucky to be shot to death.

Thpugh in the UK, the odds of being a victim of crime are much higher in general, sdo my garbage, which indeed is fact, is that the streets of the USA are far safer, so if you want to debate wrongly, go talk to yourself <wave>

So the homicides go down because they're gang related but the violent crime does not

You talk more sh)t than anybody else I've ever come across in my entire life. FACT.

Having read through this debate, I conclude that you would be extremely unlucky to be spat on by Steven Fletcher in Cyprus, hence the move here.

Bullsheeted to death not on the streets of UK or USA but in the ether of the faceless internet...

A real shame, held Fletcher in quite high regard, as bad as the rest of the scúmbags infesting British streets in recent years.

No DJ, its meant to reflect the well known issues currently being dealt with in the UK with shameful attacks on many people in the streets and yobs on every corner causing mayhem.

As for the usual nonsense you throw at the USA, you could not be more wrong, i have yet to meet an expat who feels the USA is more dangerous than the UK, and personally i think this country is much safer, and having lived in both i am very entitled to that opinion.
--------------------

The sheer hypocrisy of making comments like that and then when someone criticises the comments on the forum - oh yes I agree Vinnie

You are absolutely pathetic cinci

Agree vinnie, I'm going to try to do something about it.

See my new article "X. It's your forum"

DJ, my initial comment was very straight forward, I have no axe to grind, its well known I have no love for the USA.
Unfortunately you jumped on my comment with your usual nonsense, it is clear for anyone to see if they check back.

Your initial comment was an unprovoked and totally senseless and false insult about the UK.

Don't try to blame anyone else for that prompting yet another argument with you at the heart of it

DJ, my comment related to the issues in the UK now where respect has gone out the window, unless you live under a rock you would have heard all about it a million times.
Your comment was intended as the usual put down of a poster, I did not single out anybody.

"DJ, my comment related to the issues in the UK now where respect has gone out the window, unless you live under a rock you would have heard all about it a million times."

I think the issue is that everything you say is so incredibly hyperbolic Cinci, I think it riles people. If you had said something just marginally more measured I'd have let that comment go but all the exaggeration and unfounded claims do is make me want to argue lol.

No part of the above is true in my opinion, I don't read news saying "respect has gone out the window" (whatever that even means?), I can honestly say I can't remember ever having a conversation with anybody about the UK being bad for crime or feeling intimidated or a "lack of respect". Maybe you talk to people for whom this is a particularly massive concern or who suffer some sort of paranioa...but I just don't see where you could possible get the idea that unless you live under a rock you would have heard about this lack of respect a million times.

Just take a step back and put what you actually think is the case or make some sort of evidence-based case rather than these ridiculously inflammatory statements which are so exaggerated as to be meaningless.

So you quite literally have not heard of terms like broken Britain ulf?
Seen the news show where it is discussed time and again?

posted on 20/1/14

Just leave it now will you Cinci. You left this country to seek a better life for yourself and good luck to you.

I have stayed here because I like it and I have made a good life for myself too. I have never felt threatened here or abroad, thankfully.

But please - dont come onto a football forum and slag off my country.

My comment was in response to your unprovoked and totally senseless and false insult about the UK. . So yes of course I singled you out, Nobody else had written such rubbish.

Vinnie, I wasn't slagging off my country, I love the UK, more than the USA that's for sure.
Apologies if my comment came across as an attack, it certainly was not meant that way.

It is more amazing that some of you are pretending it is not a reality.
