Totally. Without equivocation. I have always maintained, Utd are a far bigger draw without CL than Liverpool with.
Liverpool FC is clearly not seen by the top world footballers in the same way that their followers see them. Being circa 45th in the Fifa rankings and with no domestic title for near on a quarter of a century, first time CL in 5 seasons, small antiquated stadium, strange supporters, coupled with the fact that their best players always want to leave and use them as a stepping stone to the next level up in world football, like Barca, Chelsea, Utd, Madrid etc etc.

To be fair, if QPR offered a touch more than United, hed probably be going there.
Its the football equivalent of the question, 'What attracted you to the millionaire, Paul Daniels'.
Man United is the new Paul Daniels.

So because we didn't splash out stupid money on a player we don't need, that means we can't sign big name players?

Yeah - with RVP, Rooney, Mata plus a range of squad players it's really the attacking side of the squad that needs the work.

You seem to have developed Arsenal syndrome - buying great players where you don't need them.

As for Liverpool, I'm very happy with our signings but thanks for your concern.

Lallana is a really good player. Lambert was a no risk buy at 4 million. Markovic was admittedly a bizarre buy. Liverpool have spent a lot this summer so financial muscle isn't an issue, their manager being like a kid in a candy store is an issue though

Never mind son, I can can feel your pain. Yes, you are in a bit of a mess, you are paying through the nose for a player RM don't need any more, and you are in the wilderness. And there will, no doubt be more very expensive players sought, and some bought, and failures too therein. But we've been there too, for more than two decades, so we know, we feel, your pain. It's just something you've got to bear.

Will thing get better for you? Well, personally, I couldn't give a toss. You are in such a state that you can't even wum properly.

Poor wee thing.

The argument wasn't that you wouldn't be able to attract big players. It was that you would have to pay massively over the odds because the only reason champions league standard players would be interested in United is for money, not for football. Well you've certainly showed that by spending £64mil and offering more wages than PSG were willing to.

No it wasn't you liar. it was exactly that they couldn't attract these players.

I have personally read many times this summer comments from Liverpool supporters stating categorically that United would be unable to attract top players as a result of being out of the CL.

Can't remember the last player to move to Utd from us. Barca and Madrid, yeah fair enough.

Chelsea too in fairness. They ripped Torres and Meireles from us. I've leave you to judge who did better from that....

I bet almost all of the people posting about Markovic have never even seen him play before.
