I mean most are lucky to make it into their 50's with their lifestyles

We have a harder life, Toiler. Not all of us have the luxury of spending twenty odd years at Primary school learning to count to thirteen on our fingers.

Is he a Quisling for having a different opinion to the rabble?
_____________________________________

Hec, he wasn't called a Quisling for being a No campaigner.

He was called a quisling by Labour party supporters who have watched him go up and down the party defending Tory policies that could not be further from the ideals of the Labour party.

What the media have failed to put across in this whole egg-gate saga is that it is Labour supporters, not SNP supporters, who have been the most vociferous in their attacks on Murphy.

IE - Jesus, you could have warned me that link contained comments from Willie Rennie. He's about as politically relevant as my postman.

And why do people only ever ask for certainty from independence, not the Union? Look at the bottom of the article, UK immigration went up 38% despite the UK Government saying they were going to reduce it. Why do you think that's ok, but don't accept any problems with an independent Scotland?

posted on 3/9/14

I can't remember for sure, but was it Jim Murphy who was campaigning for job losses in his own constituency if we get independence?

That's quisling behaviour right there!

Lazy stereotypes, Toiler. I expected more of you.

Anyway. Too OT.

Look, you can't really blame Jim. It's the culture of things. He's got to look after himself after all as he'll maybe be out of a job.

I mean, how is he supposed to provide for himself and his family when he's only got the £1million of expenses that he's claimed over the last 10 years to fall back on?

Thankfully we've got food banks for him to use, which of course is a sign of a modern affluent country.

Why has none of this hit the headlines? Mr Murphy is obviously a thief and a freeloader, how did he ever rise to a high position within government without anyone noticing?

Murphy is not the only Labour man backing Tory policys, most Scottish Labour MP's are too! And you elected them!

I most certainly didn't! Unfortunately some people haven't learned that 'New' Labour is completely different from Labour. There are more and more people eventually waking up to this. A big reason why the debate is now closer than ever. They're seeing through Labour lies and wanting change

Hec - apathy.

Westminster is hugely corrupt. How else can we explain the privatisation of the NHS while over a hundred of those in that corrupt institution are sitting on the boards of private medical companies?

And yet we, the electorate, shrug our shoulders and just accept that "that's the way it is".

And you ask why we're voting for them - I personally didn't vote for them, but if you ask people in Scotland I can guarantee that we all know someone who will answer "to keep the Tories out". And that sums up everything that is wrong with our relationship with Westminster. We don't vote for Labour for their policies or what they can do for Scotland, we vote for them so that the other lot don't get in*.

*even though our votes don't really matter more often than not.

Old Labour basically bankrupted the country. We had to go cap in hand to the IMF.

Labour is Labour in many peoples eyes.

The UK labour party has taken Scotland for granted, until this debate their vote was assured.

Cos the union are talking about reducing immigration and independence seems to be going towards more liberal immigration.

Lesser of two evils. It needs brought under control. Not loosened

Agreed

So many people voted Labour in because tories completely fkd it with Thatcher. Now after finally realising Labour have completely changed and don't represent them any more, independence is the only real alternative.

They're also talking about opting out of the Human Rights Act FFS. Does that not set alarm bells ringing?

Why is immigration a bad thing?

People keep asking how the Scottish government are going to address the question of an ageing population and criticise them for not solving that problem.

They then outline why controlled immigration is essential to solving this problem (and the amount of immigrants we need is fairly small to be frank) and yet they get hammered for being 'liberal' with immigration?

I'm curious as to how you would resolve the ageing population issue IE?
