"aye right. Do you seriously believe politicians give a monkeys about what he public wants.
Grow up."
And yet, you will vote to keep things exactly the same for the politicians. Very, very strange viewpoint.

If we're looking to "blame" anyone on the lack of knowledge that Brain obviously feels we have, then we should be looking at the media and their inability to actually investigate the issues and give clear and balanced information to their readership.
David Cameron is interviewed by Nick Robinson, the chief political reporter for the BBC. He asks Cameron will Scotland have new powers in light of a No vote. Dave answers "Yes, and soon". Nick smiles and nods and leaves it at that.
Does someone want to make an argument that this is good journalism? Does someone want to tell me that Robinson shouldn't have maybe followed that up with more questions, pressing the PM into giving a wee bit more detail for the people of Scotland?
The grass roots campaigns in Scotland have been nothing short of magnificent in their ability to investigate some of the claims by both parties and help educate the people of Scotland on the issues.
And then we have kants like Brain coming up telling us we're "too wee, too stupid, too poor" to make this decision.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What you have said, is entirely supporting my point. My issue is that the people of Scotland have not been given enough information to make a good, reasoned decision. I don't know what is best for Scotland, but there doesn't appear to be enough substance in the discussion to justify such a change. If there was a compelling and robust argument made for independence, I would wish you well. I have not yet seen a compelling argument to justify such a risky change.
no-ers simply do not want that responsibility & want other people to do it for them
..........
Sanctimonious twaddle.
Has it even entered your little sponge that some No'ers don't trust the dregs of the high-heid yins that remain in Scotland to be any good at their job? Salmond would sell his soul to get Independence and to leave a legacy, has palled up with Murdoch ffs!
That in an ever shrinking world you don't become relevant and stronger by making yourself weaker and smaller?
That by booting out Trident we're effectively handing over national border security to English forces
Hobo, you're the worst kind of Nationalist, dismissing No beliefs because they in your warped opinion they are too cowardly to take 'A CHANCE' that things might be better on our lonesome.
What a dk!

Voting "no" because you don't like politicians is nonsensical. An independent Scotland would have 129 MSPs & 6-13 MEPs.
In the UK we have 129 MSPs, 650 MPs 73 MEPs & 774 unelected Lords.
If you don't like politicians, vote "yes" & suddenly 59 Scottish MPs are out on the dole. That's what they mean by "job losses"!

Brain, my point surrounding the media would justify your point if we were only reading the media.
Thankfully the people of Scotland have actually taken this seriously and went looking for information ourselves. We've read reports, we've looked up legislation, we've examined specific quotes by experts in a variety of fields.
You've ignored my comment about the impact of the grassroots campaigns and that my friend shows your ignorance about what's been happening up here. It is these people, and the individuals in their homes who have spent hours reading and searching for information to fully investigate the ramifications of each and every policy and suggestion made by our politicians.
We aren't sheep. We don't just believe what we're told in the papers. We are much, much more active than you give us credit for, and your accusations do this country and its people an injustice.

Beautiful. Sheer poetry
Getting rid of the Tories is a big plus for me.
"If there was a compelling and robust argument made for independence, I would wish you well."
Democracy. Currently we have a Prime Minister with only one solitary representative in Scotland. That is simply not right.
The only way for Scotland to get the government it votes for is to hope that the rest of the UK votes the same way, or to hope that Scottish votes are enough to tip the balance. The former scenario is a sham of democracy and latter scenario is not fair on the rest of the UK. In the 2010 election for example, the rUK voted for a Conservative majority but Scotland stopped it happening. That's not fair for either of us. Neither of us got the party we voted for.
And that's without getting into a discussion about how awful FPTP is.

Does anyone have a pro-unionist point to make that doesn't involve Salmond or the SNP?

Feck me, you can't go for a pint without a discussion breaking out at the bar. Everywhere you go you hear people talking about it and putting their points across and listening to the arguments. It's fantastic.

It has been a wonder to see the politicization of the Scottish electorate.
All high on change.
