"Welbeck was £16M and again £100K a week? thats £21M for his 4 years which again is less then the 1 year Man U have taken Falcao for."

Mate, your maths is atrocious!!!

Welbeck on £100k p/w x 52 weeks = £5,200,000 p/a x 4 years = £20,800,000 plus purchase price £16,000,000 = £36,800,000
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Remember the logic please, if you buy a player the fee is not included.

Irrespective of the OP's "logic" I am more worried that he blamed the first incorrect mathematics on a "dodgy calculator" but goes on to underestimate all of the other workings, after overestimating Falcao:

"Remy £8M and probably on £100K a week for 4 years ? Thats £13M for his entire stay at Chelsea. Half what Man U have for 1 year"

CORRECT: £100k p/w x 52 = £5.2m x 4 years = £20.8m + fee £8m = £28.8m.

"Costa (which again I forgot to add in this thread originally) cost Chelsea £32M and if I am right £250K a week. Thats £44M for his 4 year stay. "

CORRECT: £250k p/w x 52 = £13m x 4 years = £52m + fee £32m = £84m

There's more than a "dodgy calculator" going on here.

BBC say £265k p/w, Monaco not paying any and £6m loan fee. That equates to a total loan fee of £15.4m (based on 36 weeks remaining).

Hmmm, so Costa, Remy and Welbeck all came out much lower and Falcao much higher and you are still trying to blame a calculator?

This is the sort of thing that bugs me. He has almost doubled Costa's wages & posted them as fact & gawd knows what he has done with Falcao's.

£280k x 37 weeks = £10.36m

He came up with £21m, that's more than double

If you want to use Google (which probably is an average based on all quoted) as opposed to BBC be my guest. I don't care, and I'm not going to get hung up on it.

One thing I will get hung up on is the OP's need to redo his year 6 SATS so he can learn to do basic multiplication

No probs, I also got the "calculator issues". I went the other way & got £580,000 a week from £21m

And according to his calculations Arsenal will be paying Welbeck £5m for 4 years so that's £24k p/w and Costa at £12m wages for 4 years is £57k p/w

Assuming we go on £280 PW for 9 months is £21M plus £6M initial loan fee, thats £27M for 1 year only.

If you look at the others I mentioned

Remy £8M and probably on £100K a week for 4 years ? Thats £13M for his entire stay at Chelsea. Half what Man U have for 1 year

Welbeck was £16M and again £100K a week? thats £21M for his 4 years which again is less then the 1 year Man U have taken Falcao for.

Same for Balotelli.

Costa (which again I forgot to add in this thread originally) cost Chelsea £32M and if I am right £250K a week. Thats £44M for his 4 year stay. Thats less then double what Man U will pay for Falcao in ONE year.
------------------------------------

Deary me I have no clue where any of those calculations came from. It can't even be put down to a simple mistake as they're all way off by various amounts

Some interesting Maths going on here...

Falcao is just a strange one, obviously a class act. But at the cost it will be for a year, with the number of attacking options they have it seems as if surely this money could have been invested elsewhere

All top players on top wages cost money over a year

I think falcao is the best striker 'bought' this summer

posted on 5/9/14

Did anyone factor in currency exchange rate into Falcao's number? Surely in Monaco, they're using Euros...

If United is paying for Falcao's Monaco wages then that 265k GBP --> 335k Euros a week.
