Significant new information that emerged:

🍺 misleading account of guest list and growing size

📸 picture of Met officers at gathering

🥘 £200 order - not including beer

👁‍🗨 witnesses came forward to say they were not contacted

🤷🏻‍♂️ misleading claims nothing else was open
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Other than number I don't see the relevance of what was open, what the end up cost was or why MET police being there would be in anyway incriminating

It's desperate stuff thats a bit of red meat to wounded Tories but obviously if fined/convicted/whatever Starmer will probably have to resign

Lucky for Labour there's a fair amount of talent waiting in the wings

Apparently you could only order food from the cheapest establishments during the pandemic. They should have all got a Greggs from UberEats.

I'm not really sure why the price of the order is relevant.

It was legal to have food whilst you're working. The price of the food is irrelevant to whether it was within regulations.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
For some reason £200 split between 30 people is somehow seen as expensive
----------------------------------------------------------------------
For Indian food it's nothing... Ours is usually £60 for four....

I'd love it if he is guilty and immediately resigns tbh.

And Starmer WOULD have to resign as a matter of principle and integrity, of course he could do a Boris and just hold on if he wanted but he's not that kind of person or politician

The city was given the choice of having a mayor or a committee system in which decisions are made by groups of councillors

IMPORTANT NUMBERS!
Our estimate of what result would have been if the election had been held across the whole country yesterday, the projected national share ...
Labour 35%, Con 30%, Lib Dems 19%, Others 16%

Labour would be the winners but not a clear majority.

Remember the Brexit bus promise: ‘We send the EU £350 million a week. Let’s fund our NHS instead. Vote leave’?

The truth increasingly seems that quitting the European Union means there is £173m a week less to spend on the NHS, according to calculations based on recent ONS and UK Government data.

Weighing up the cost of EU membership versus lost EU exports since Brexit, Brexit has cost the UK £9bn a year, or around £173m a week, about £25m per day, or just over £1m every single hour.

Where's NPE to defend this?

Labour taking Worthing is pretty big. That's where I lived until last year and was a Tory stronghold. I imagine it is being impacted by an influx of people moving from Brighton though.

Torygraph reporting that Durham Police will reinvestigate that photo of Starmer having a beer

Going to be one of the fastest open and shut investigations on record but at least we see how powerful the right wing press really are in this country (with added pressure from local MP Richard Holden)
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If it is reinvestigated then it's no different than the left wing press (Mirror) insisting that the police investigate partygate.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You can’t see the difference between the two?

Weren’t you corrected yesterday on The Mirror investigating, you were told it was actually ITV?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

It's standard practice these days. If you're corrected on something key to your narrative, then just go away for a few hours and then come back saying the same things.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Whether it started with ITV, the Mirror or Jeremy Kyle doesn't detract from the fact that it's been headline in the Mirror almost every day for months.

Surely nobody on here is going to contest that?
