The team were at the centre of several disruptions during last month's Vuelta a Espana in Spain, as pro-Palestinian protests were staged over Israel's war in Gaza.
The team said the past few months had been "an incredibly difficult period" but "recognised the need for change".
They added: "With steadfast commitment to our riders, staff, and valued partners, the decision has been made to rename and re-brand the team, moving away from its current Israeli identity.
"In sport, progress often requires sacrifice, and this step is essential to securing the future of the team."

So I make 12 grounds for indefinite leave to remain in the UK, from the Gov.uk website:
1. you work in the UK. You may be able to apply if you have a work visa. You must usually have lived and worked in the UK for 5 years. If you have a tier 1 visa, it can be 2 or 3 years. If you have an Innovator Founder or Global Talent visa, it can be 3 years. You may also need to meet the salary or financial requirements - this depends on your visa.
2. you have family in the UK. You may be able to apply if you have a partner, parent or child or other relative settled in the UK - either as a British citizen or a person with indefinite leave to remain.
3. you have family in the UK & your partner has died
4. you have family in the UK & your relationship ended because of domestic violence
5. you’ve lived in the UK for 10 years or more
6. If you’re a Commonwealth citizen. You can apply if you’ve been living in the UK for 5 years on a UK Ancestry visa
7. Some Commonwealth citizens have ‘right of abode’ in the UK. This means you can live or work in the UK without immigration restrictions.
8. You may be eligible for citizenship instead, for example by applying under the Windrush scheme.
9. a refugee or have humanitarian protection or Discretionary Leave
10. returning to the UK having previously had indefinite leave to remain
11. served in the armed forces
12. permission to stay in the UK as a stateless person
This seems to be a lot of people can become eligible for welfare payments to me (assuming that anybody with indefinite leave to remain can indeed currently obtain welfare payments).
I'd think that there is room for consultation as to whether it may be appropriate to reduce some of these.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
See what you’ve done are the CURRENT conditions to be granted indefinite leave to remain. What you haven’t included is what conditions were in place covering the period of all ILR people. And, just for you, none of the above applies to be wife when she was granted ILR.

To me it's perfectly reasonable to discuss these in terms of being entitled to welfare/benefit payments.
I don't necessarily know the answer on specific ones, but there's discussion to be had between policy makers, treasury etc.
The response by others on this was:
"the kind of daft bullshiiiit which sees your best and brightest foreign students, graduates and young professionals choose Paris, Oslo, Sydney or Beijing instead of London or Manchester."
"Economically stupid Trumpian nonsense."
"a brainlessly stupid, and fundamentally un-British, policy"
"a moronic and callous policy that Reform might try and implement."
"populist nonsense...pointless economic self-harm."
To me though, a suggestion to instigate a review of the above is perfectly prudent and unsurprising.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
“A review of the above” isn’t what the Tories are pledging though, is it? That’s not what people were responding to.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
People on here have said, as I understand it, that currently anybody with indefinite right to remain in the UK is entitled to "welfare" etc, the same as a UK citizen.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Once again, a “suggestion to instigate a review of” the various and specific criteria which may qualify applicants for settled status IS NOT what the Tories are pledging.
They’re pledging to remove entitlement to benefits from all of those listed above.
You’re conflating two completely separate issues:
- A potential review of the qualifying factors for settled status
- The Tories threatening to remove access to benefits for ALL non-citizens with settled status.
Facking nobody would argue against a review of the criteria of settled status, surely. Even if they agreed with all of those criteria. A review is a review. Are the criteria reasonable and fair and proportionate with both those of other developed nations and considering a sensible balance between push-pull factors given the labour market, industrial strategy and the nation’s other needs? Fine, absolutely fine; let’s ask the question.
The disbelief people were displaying has absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with those specific criteria, however.

Interesting:
Germany's former Chancellor Angela Merkel has blamed Poland and the Baltic states for Vladimir Putin's invasion of Ukraine. Merkel, who led the country from 2005 to 2021, made the explosive claim in an interview with Hungarian outlet Partizan . She said she blamed Poland and the Baltic states for the severance of diplomatic ties between Russia and the EU, which she said led to the invasion just a few months later.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No; no she didn’t.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Is this Fake News?
Boycott where'd you get this from?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This link exolains it pretty well:
https://www.politico.eu/article/angela-merkel-blast-poland-baltics-share-blame-russia-invasion-ukraine/
She basically said that she and Macron had proposed that the EU sit down to talks with Putin when Russia was amassing troops near the Ukrainian border, but that the Baltic states and Poland refused.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That's interesting information.
So whether Merkel expressly states it or not, it was down to those states, if what she's saying is correct, which it's probably likely to be.
