Time is the main factor. He's been here 4 seasons and the progress is pretty staggering. Top 4 three out of four times (likely). Along with some cup runs.
If he stays a few more seasons we'll see what else we can achieve wont weno way he's getting sacked but might walk if this trophy thing becomes too much and we start losing key players. (Kane, Eriksen, Dele)

Wow. Talk about an overreaction to losing the semi final. We've come so far under Poch and open the doors to new WHL in a few months. Yes, there have been some frustrations at times, definitely some cup games where we've let ourselves down, but overall the strides forward have been immense. The way some fans will turn on a guy is so disappointing.
As for Klopp showing him up? How exactly, because Liverpool are having a good CL run? They've got Salah doing a Suarez, he didn't play at the weekend they drew 2-2 with WBA, he came off last night and Roma are back in the tie. Also, the Man City tie apart Liverpool coup not have hand picked their CL group and KO ties better, whereas we got lumbered with Europe's best sides every step of they way. I like Klopp, but he's getting the rub of the green at the moment IMO. We've had to navigate this season without a home and if we wrap up top 4 we'll have done that better than most of us expected, but no, let's start running Poch out of town and jump back on that managerial merry go round that we all used to love so much.

Can't really understand the reaction from Spurs fans about Poch in the last few weeks. He's got you punching above your weight for a few seasons now. He's not a miracle worker. He's doing very well with the tools he's been given. Put him in charge of Utd with their 1 billion a week wage structure and watch how well he does.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Are they really punching above their weight though?
They've got arguably the best striker in the league over the past few seasons
They had the best defence in the league
One of the strongest midfields in the league
One of the best keepers in the league
They should be challenging for things in my opinion.
You can say they don't spend as much which is true, but they have the players at the club already so it's irrelevant in that respect.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes and a lot of this is down to Poch's coaching.

Nobody is saying he isn't a great coach, I'm confident that he could recycle this team again and we'd still be decent but this comes down to the fact that when the players cross that white line in a big game are they mentally strong enough to win & does Poch have the Balls to make the big calls re tactics and subs at the right time ??? History is starting to tell us something. If our ambition is to finish top 4 for the next 10 years then I think Poch is perfect... If we hope for something more then I'm not so sure

Go back to what we was before poch and see the resources he’s had to reboot the whole club then tell me he’s overrated.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The amount of dross he had at the club and got rid of was ridiculous, he's doing a fine job
Bit of strength in dept and luck and we're well on our way, time and patience
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yep he had to start from scratch. Players like Verts & Lloris wanted out and players like capoue and Adebayor strolling around doing fack all.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You were an ADE fan boy if i remember
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well you remember incorrectly.
Shoulda kept Paulinho though..
Without poch we’d be worse off
Get a grip lads.
How is one off cup game more important than the incredible progression in the league since Poch has come in. When Harry got us champions league football we scraped fourth. The last three years (barring a catastrophe we have comfortably got top 4)
This is whilst all our other rivals have spent a lot more in wages and transfers.
The reason a lot of players mentioned are so good is because of Poch.
The managers that won us trophies in the 90s were Terry Venables and George Graham who were already winners and top managers in that era.
I would not rate Poch on their level yet. On the other hand neither of those names produced the league strength and consistency that Poch gets from his team.

Very much agree with this
I was wondering myself this morning about Poch.
Clearly he is the best manager we have had in the modern era, he's done so many brilliant things, more than anything he's made the team truly likeable. He's great and we'd be stupid to lose him.
But - you cannot escape the fact that we still fall down at the final hurdle, and with the players we have, we aren't punching above our weight. Progress is measured in more than trophies of course, and actually if he makes us a consistent top four team then that's an amazing achievement, but we should also have the belief that we can win competitions. And we should be winning them.

I think it's ridiculous to claim that Poch is overrated.
Poch has got us punching above our weight.
Our league table finishes over the last few years have been incredible really, bearing in mind our financial resources. We dispatched Real Madrid and Dortmund with aplomb in the CL group stages and gave Juventus a run for their money - a tie we should have won.
The only criticism that I would make of Poch is that he does not take the domestic cups as seriously as we the fans would like. However, he is absolutely right in saying that winning an FA cup will not change our lives. You can bet your bottom dollar that if we win an FA cup or League cup but fail to qualify for the CL in consecutive seasons, that our star players will be off citing "We want CL football".
I believe Poch is taking us in the right direction. I just think that he would benefit from refreshing his coaching staff so that there's a different perspective on tactics - particularly for big games. I don't mean that the existing coaching staff should be sacked, but I think he should at least appoint a new assistant head coach with experience of being at a club that has won trophies.
I really hope that some of the negativity that has been written about Poch on here does not spill out onto the terraces. We need to support him and the team - now more than ever.
we are doing just fine expectations too high and jealous of rival clubs success in cup comps clouds the judgement of the fickles

I think we are getting exactly what we are paying for. A cheap, young manager that doesn't rock the boat & make demands, who can point to successes that fall inline with the ambition of the board.... A squad of young players with high resale value, kept on below avg wages who are good enough to qualify for the cash cow that is the CL. All of the above helps with the stadium..... I don't think actually winning anything features that highly on the list. I think its symptomatic of a club that's doing what it is in regards to the new ticket prices in a stadium that has a cheese room !!!! Its all so Spurs...... "Style Over Substance " should replace "To dare Is to Do"
