EDbo, one world class player would make a difference though mate. It was proved on Saturday mate with Alexis Sanchez. A guy that hasn't been that great, but managed to deliver for United when it mattered. Got the all important equaliser when they were not even in the game. That world class player would be the difference and we needed that someone special Saturday to deliver. We sign a player of world class ability, we will see a Change im telling you now.

Phenom, said it all along and I'll say again, Gareth Bale is the one we should be going all out for this summer. If it means making him the biggest earner and also upping the wages of Harry Kane etc, then so bloody be it. We ain't winning anything anytime soon until we sign some players of world class ability and start paying our top players the proper wages.

breaking wage structure, highest transfer fee, policy of signing young player and intregating him in the team would require a change of formation/tactics

to accommodate Bale with how we operate (wrongly or rightly) we would have to get rid of a key player we already have. It's true.

Also i doubt we will go back for him anyway mate, i was asking for realistic options earlier.

DIdnt have the same team as then mate. Gareth Bale pretty much was a one man show, where as in this team he wouldn't be. He would add to the quality already there.

Get rid of Sissoko for one. He's appeared in over 40 games. Bale can also challenge for Son's position or play elsewhere when needed.

At the end of the day, we shouldn't think that we can't improve on our first team. Is Bale better than Son when fit and in form. The answer is yes.

Bale would be a stupid signing for so many reasons though:

* he is severely injury prone
* he doesn't suit our system (even though he is World Class and we would have to accommodate, why not sign a WC player who DOES suit our system)
* his wage demands would be astronomical
* he may not necessarily be the same player who left Spurs due to all his injuries

The player Spurs need is Ruben Neves. Not that they could afford him.

I accept all those doubts. I'd just be happy for us to be going for a world class player whether it's Bale or someone else.

I don't agree, it firstly still is *only* the championship and thus a big risk. He also seems slightly lightweight which can be kind of risky as well. Would rather go for a proven player in a bigger league like a Seri.

Yeah I would lean towards someone else (sign Seri & Milinković-Savić)

I think in a year's time you might think differently, though by then he'll probably be heading to Real or Barca.

You don't boss the Championship at 21 years of age by being lightweight

“I get the whole thing about changing the ethos of the club but that means nothing to me“

Did I seriously just read that?

So you want the club to operate and behave in the exact same way as they did 5, 10, 20, 30+ years ago when they weren’t achieving much bar all the ‘year ending in 1’ stuff and finishing in mid-table mediocrity just so you can celebrate winning a cup once a decade?

Poch has done a good job, he’s not overrated in my opinion as I don’t see many claiming he’s up there in the top bracket with the likes of Guardiola etc.

2015/16 and 16/17 were anomalies. Look back in history and see the last time a team won the league without playing in European competition. That by no means is me declaring that we would have won it had they been, but I’m just stating the fact that the occurrences you’ve referred to are not the norm at all.

We all want trophies, but I don’t want to be some joke club that continue to languish in mid-table going nowhere.

Shocking article.
