Predator 2 is an average movie.
The plot is non existent and the idea that Danny Glover could take on a Predator seems to add to the comedic nature of the film. It loses all the horror and suspenseful elements of the first and it's set in a city environment that doesn't compliment the Predator. The action is great but everything between those scenes is filler and the characters lack the interest of the first.
Prey and Predators are far superior in my opinion.

If this was a movie about chasing down some drug gangs, Glover would be best equipped. Unfortunately, we're dealing with an alien that hunts for sport, using similar hunting tactics to humans.
Also, Prey is a prequel, so that particular Predator had no prior experience with humans and so it's realistic to expect it to be surprised by some of their tactics. The Predator in the original movies are far better equipped to deal with humans.
I'd also add that the Predator in the 2nd film was far more ruthless and blood thirsty. The Predator in Prey was less aggressive and looked to be more curious.
A perfect example of this was when the Predator in Prey went toe to toe with the bear. That shows its inexperience and even arrogance. A seasoned Predator like we see in 1 and 2 would have just obliterated the bear using traps or weaponary.

This 💯
This is the one of the many problems I had with the movie.
It’s just a slasher flick, they wanted it be as brutal as Alien, when in fact the first film had set up what the Predator was all aboot.
It had created a very interesting and layered antagonist.
Very intelligent and one that lives by a code.
Why didn’t it go after the mercenaries in the jungle who Dutch’s team took out? It just watched and observed..
Predator 2, it’s going after drug dealers and what not, so we don’t really care for who it’s killing, it’s anyone and everyone. Great kills for sure, very creative, but just all for show. Only at the very end does the film become very interesting for me.
But doesn’t save it.
Why didn’t it go after the mercenaries in the jungle who Dutch’s team took out? It just watched and observed..

Petty thugs? The Jamaican voodoo gangs and Colombian drug cartels were armed to the teeth and extremely violent.
Thorgen is bang on - any of those in Prey wouldn’t last a minute against a predator. Lieutenant Harrigan at least had a chance with his guns.
We saw the speargun, combi stick, smart disc, med pack. The predator fought King Willy honourably, didn’t kill the little kid with a plastic gun, didn’t kill Eliona because she was pregnant.
When Harrigan’s team got taken out one by one, I cared. Poor Jerry the Lone Ranger got his head pulled off, Danny boy got taken down with screams of dreaded fear. I didn’t care one bit about the recent characters.
Predators was pretty good though, probs joint second with Predator 2 for me.

I'd suggest you read my earlier points.
The Predator in P2 was clearly more aggressive and experienced than the one in Prey. The Predator in Prey was a younger more inexperienced hunter and it knew nothing of how the humans hunt or their capabilities.

Predator 2: Great action scenes but everything inbetween would make a popular comedy sketch.

I read them previously. Still don’t agree. I know the prey predator is less experienced but that still doesn’t go anywhere to explaining how a skinny little girl that is 5ft 5 inches takes on a yautja. It’s laughable mate
And I wouldn’t say that it’s the predator that is more aggressive, the film is. It’s a 90s action sequel.
Better characters than the modern films
Better gore
Expanded the lore
Better soundtrack

Danny Glover, a very good actor on his day, but it was just all wrong in the execution imo.
Predator 2 looked dated back in ‘90, and sure as hell doesn’t hold up today. It’s an Ugly Muthakunucker.
Prey I think will age better over time, whilst Predator is a timeless classic.

Skinny little girl? She's a skilled warrior,not some instagram model.
Last time I checked she never used brute strength to beat the Predator,she used skill and her experience.

Predator 2 is an average movie.
The plot is non existent and the idea that Danny Glover could take on a Predator seems to add to the comedic nature of the film. It loses all the horror and suspenseful elements of the first and it's set in a city environment that doesn't compliment the Predator. The action is great but everything between those scenes is filler and the characters lack the interest of the first.
Prey and Predators are far superior in my opinion.

Petty thugs? The Jamaican voodoo gangs and Colombian drug cartels were armed to the teeth and extremely violent.
Thorgen is bang on - any of those in Prey wouldn’t last a minute against a predator. Lieutenant Harrigan at least had a chance with his guns.
We saw the speargun, combi stick, smart disc, med pack. The predator fought King Willy honourably, didn’t kill the little kid with a plastic gun, didn’t kill Eliona because she was pregnant.
When Harrigan’s team got taken out one by one, I cared. Poor Jerry the Lone Ranger got his head pulled off, Danny boy got taken down with screams of dreaded fear. I didn’t care one bit about the recent characters.
Predators was pretty good though, probs joint second with Predator 2 for me.

I'd suggest you read my earlier points.
The Predator in P2 was clearly more aggressive and experienced than the one in Prey. The Predator in Prey was a younger more inexperienced hunter and it knew nothing of how the humans hunt or their capabilities.

Glover only had the skill to hunt down doughuts from krispy kremes. He needed Busey, who looker like he'd been sniffing a different type of icing.
Predator 2: Great action scenes but everything inbetween would make a popular comedy sketch.

I read them previously. Still don’t agree. I know the prey predator is less experienced but that still doesn’t go anywhere to explaining how a skinny little girl that is 5ft 5 inches takes on a yautja. It’s laughable mate

And I wouldn’t say that it’s the predator that is more aggressive, the film is. It’s a 90s action sequel.
Better characters than the modern films
Better gore
Expanded the lore
Better soundtrack
Prey is criminally overrated, it’s complete garbage.

Why have more people written a review for P1 & Prey than Predator 2? And I know there’s people that love P2.

Predator 2 gave itself a bigger sandbox to play in, by setting it in the future. Gave itself all the toys.
There was nothing futuristic aboot it, they could’ve set it in present day and we wouldn’t be able to tell the difference.
In the future gang violence and drug dealers are running riot in America…🤔 Oh Hey look everyone, here’s a coked up Busey in the future, yeh, no difference from present day.
Danny Glover, a very good actor on his day, but it was just all wrong in the execution imo.
Predator 2 looked dated back in ‘90, and sure as hell doesn’t hold up today. It’s an Ugly Muthakunucker.
Prey I think will age better over time, whilst Predator is a timeless classic.
