Good shouts. Quite liked Bottle Rocket too. Generally I can't quite decide whether I'm a big Wes Anderson fan or I want to punch him in the face for his tweeness. Side note: he's good at the choreographed comedy action sequence.

From Rushmore comes this brilliant line I use as many times as possible…
Max: I like your nurse's uniform, guy.
Dr.: These are O.R. scrubs.
Max: "O.R." they?

Oh, and I must be one of the few people who barely finds Will Ferrell funny. 21st century Chevy Chase.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm not a fan. I liked Anchor Man at the time but he hasn't done anything else that made me laugh.... his part in Wedding Crashers was ok.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Wedding crashers ….great movie !
Love vince Vaughan in that…..has some great lines and the way he delivers stuff is perfect
The funniest bit of Wolf of Wall Street is when Jonah Hill has his diiiick out at the party. Honestly died at the cinema when that happened.
Vince Vaughan is peak Vaughan in Swingers. A great movie that too few people have seen. Best breakup movie ever imo.

Another good shout! Wasn't it the same guy who directed the film Sideways? I really liked that at the time: quite a layered and moving drama with at least three moments of comedy genius.

I love most of the Coen Brothers output, for instance but (Lebowski excepted) I find the pure comedies way inferior to the darker films, and the deadpan humour of the latter stays with me much more.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Agreed, although they are much better if you adjust your expectations. I find Intolerable Cruelty in particular to be very underrated.
Their Ladykillers remake is crap though. Awful. Completely butchers the original.

I was hugely disappointed with it to be honest. It's one of those films I feel I should have liked and expected to like, it just did nothing for me in terms of the script or characters.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Complete opposite in my case. I had no expectations whatsoever and the two main characters were just like my best mate and me.

+1 for that, i much prefer it to some of their more lauded films (for me o brother was weak, and i'm really not a fan of tim blake nelson's mugging, i hated hail caesar!, true grit was just dull)...see also burn after reading, which i loved

Haven’t read back through the full thread but I watched anger management again the other day
That has some classic scenes in and jack nicholson steals the show
It’s the only Adam sandler film i can stomach ….not a fan at all
Holy grail and life of Brian are fantastic too
Horrible bosses 1 &2 are very funny as well
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Bang on with Anger Management Nicholson saves it, and is simply superb.
“Willllderbeaaaaast!”
not a comedy but i find the opening part of full metal jacket fecking hilarious
I bet you're the kind of guy that would feck a person in the @55 and not even have the goddamn common courtesy to give him a reach-around. I'll be watching you
onight, you pukes will sleep with your rifles. You will give your rifle a girl's name because this is the only pu55y you people are going to get. Your days of finger-banging ol' Mary-Jane Rottencrotch through her pretty pink panties are over! You're married to this piece. This weapon of iron and wood. And you will be faithful. Port, hut!
