Brayns - you claim that you want to discuss F1 but you go to great efforts to evade questions put to you.

Your article states "Hamilton's, who let's not forget almost contrived to give away his only title to date in the final race of that season."

I have asked you to explain that remark and you have refused.

So now is your chance.

Why do you think I need "a chance" ?

Im not willing to spend my time going through a pointless back and forth exchange with you, of "you explain to me why you said that, i'll explain why i said this". it's not worth my valuable time, and i dont see that it serves any purpose whatsoever.

What exactly do you think the benefit to me would be to answer this question which appears to relate to some thread from months ago ? I am struggling to see your motivation of participating in this thread. None of your comments appear to have been on topic.

Your comment is from this article.

I asked you to explain it early in the thread.

I cant see the link.

Assuming I said it though, and assuming you asked me to clarify it, what benefit would it have been to me then to answer it, and what benefit would it be now ?

Why is it relevant to this thread, and why on earth do you think I need to answer to you ?

Well it looks like the championship is down to Alonso and Vettel.

For me these are the best two drivers on the grid. Hamilton may be capable as going as quick, but for overall ability and consistent delivery, these two are in a class of their own imo out of the current drivers.

Im not a Vettel fan at all. Like most F1 fans, he is one of the drivers I least like to see winning.

It can not have escaped everyone's notice though, that whether we like it or not, he does keep winning.

He also keeps getting pole positions more consistently than any other driver.

I've seen people on here suggest that he is not even in the top 8 drivers in F1 today. Such an opinion is totally unrealistic and reflects an inability or unwillingness to make any sort of objective rational judgment.

People may forget, that before joining Red Bull Mark Webber was known as a highly talented and quick driver, and a qualifier extraordinaire. Yet Vettel consistently out qualifies him.

In his first full season in F1, having just turned 21, this guy won a grand prix - in a Torro Rosso.

In his second full season in F1 - and his first in a competitive car - he finished 2nd in the championship in spite of a catologue of mechanical failures, penalties and such like.

In his third and fourth full season in F1 he was world champion, and in the 2nd of those championships he secured 11 race victories and a world record 15 pole positions.

In his fifth full season, he is battling it out for the title again.

This is already one of the most extraordinary records in the sport's history. Whilst I dont want to single him out for criticisms, this record contrasts significantly with Hamilton's, who let's not forget almost contrived to give away his only title to date in the final race of that season.

People criticise Vettel for not being a wheel to wheel racer, but you dont have to race wheel to wheel in order to be quick. Vettel proves time and time again, that he is lightning quick, and like it or lump it, he is on course to being one of the greatest, and no matter how many times any self professed expert says he's rubbish, he just isnt.

Without the safety car he wouldn't have finished in the top 10. He's a very lucky boy.

He did well today

WTCBU has finally produced the earth shattering evidence he's been alluding to all this time :

"He’s in a great car, yes, but he has done a simply phenomenal job. The last few races he’s been perfect. Not put a foot wrong, got the wins and deserved it.”

How does this prove that Vettel is "rubbish" and not one of the best 8 drivers on the grid at the moment WT ?

What was your own assessment of Vettel's drive today btw, when he caught his front row team mate from the pit lane after 30 laps having had a pit stop ?

=================

most of the posters were fairly balanced to be fair edin.

there were only a couple of posters who expressed a view that he isnt any good.

they seem to be of the school of thought that if they say something it makes it right, so i dont see them changing their minds any time soon, or realising there's any need to.

I dont liken Vettel much personally and want to see Alonso win the championship. As an F1 fan though, I am grateful for the opportunity to have enjoyed the great show from the drivers today, and to have witnessed some of the once in a season drive from the young german.

A great race to grace a super venue.

But you made a valid observation regarding his performance and then for some reason you are reluctant to educate me about it.
