You have to take into account how many wars were fought in the name of a "God" but in reality it was just used as an excuse to attack another region / nation by a power hungry leader.

You cannot possibly state religion is the biggest cause of murder throughout history.

kneerash, we also have to take into consideration how many diseases and deaths due to natural causes have existed in HISTORY to come to the obvious conclusion that religion hasn't killed more people than both of those causes.

Let's keep it real most people on here would be murderers and thiefs if there wasn't any law.

I for one certainly would not be. What a pointless act it would be. I understand, if there was no law, I maybe would do a few things that are illegal today, but not to allegedly harm someone or put them to a death before their time is up, no chance.

For most of history religion and politics were one and the same thing.

Yes. It is far different Not all religious people are extremists ffs.

I work in a non-religious state school. I sit in a lot of R.E lessons, religions are pretty much taught equally. Most of it is about ethics and philosophy.

Dont see the problem with educating kids about all religions. Fear and distrust comes with ignorance. However it should be reciprocal in other countrys of different cultures and religion.

Not really, millions of people are practicing in their own religion and don't have issues with other faiths, you're kind of pigeon holing here, not every person of faith preaches that their religion is better then others, you don;t go to a Christian mass and hear a priest bashing Jews Muslims etc.

Millions of people practice their faith everyday with no negative impact upon anyone.
