I think RE in school is generally a waste of time. Nobody takes notice. Give hem two hours of geography, that actually teaches you something.

Before Christianity, humans were treated like trash especially if you are poor or disabled and it was accepted in those societies.
But Christ changed everything. He taught that all men were equal before God and should be treated as such. This was the philosophy that drove the abolisionists like Wilberforce to end the slave trade.
Also, if you were not a wealthy land owner, you could not vote but all that changed when Christians fought for us that all men are equal. This became the bedrock of western democracy.

Explain how God wrote this book through his followers yet it has been dramatically edited over centuries, explain why the people in power at the time chose to remove certain books the Bible.

Religious groups have done a many good things for people thought out history, but also many bad things. I certainly wouldn't say Christianity promoted equality..

My point is not to throw mud at someones belief just because you do not understand. Take time to study it or accept your ignorance for what it is. The lack of tolerance is what starts war in countries.

Religion is a load of made up rubbish IMO, but if you want to believe it, that's your choice. Just don't use it as a weapon or as a reason to dislike another.

There is no god, it's the biggest fairytale ever. It shouldn't fall on atheists to prove there is not one. One single scrap of scientific evidence or otherwise is there to suggest some superbeing,ie. a god created a universe with billions and billions of planets, black holes and billions of years old. Billions of species have existed in a very short time on this planet...not thanks to a god.

That doesn't sound like a religion, that sounds like a political group.

My favorite is that unless your child is baptised it will not get into heaven. If god is such a tolerant "thing" why cant dead babies get into heaven?

In this kind of debate all sides shows high level of ignorance, that's why it's usually a big waste of time.

If you're not religious you'd never see things from the side of a religious person, vice versa.

I'm a Christian myself and see big flaws in these arguments..
