I choose to blame people for their actions rather than blame the religion they practice.

I hate to use this analogy but I feel religion is a tool, you can choose to be mindlessly controlled by it, use it for good or kill if you want to.

Too many fools have killed in the name of one god or another, they lack mental strength to take their own path.

How many times are people going to repeat this same point without facts?

I think you might find the 7/7 or 9/11 attacks generate enough evidence, or 300 years of hate in Ireland. As I said you have a weak mind, in constructive argument at all.

At all these people thinking equality has ever existed.

Which religion? The stone people who believed God was the reason the Sun rose in the morning? The Ancient Greeks who believed in Zeus? Their Roman counterparts? Judaism? Christianity? Islam?

You should know..
Read up on history of religion mate and how religion changed culture/attitudes in countries around the world.

The negative attitude towards religion in our society these days saddens me as not many actually have good reasons. Mainly due to ignorance IMO.

You have google by your side. The truth is, without Christianity, England would not have had the industrial revolution - why? because it was christians who started the study of classical science in monastaries across Europe. These monastaries are what came to be known today as universities. So without science, there would have been no industrial revolution.

---------------------------------------------

Do you actually believe what you've just written? Put aside the fact that religion has consistently refuted science and hindered progression throughout the history of mankind, do you honestly believe that if Christians didn't start studying classical science, no one else ever would have?

And who's to say say that if Christianity hadn't been refuting science for centuries the industrial revolution wouldn't have happened earlier?

The negative attitude towards religion largely comes from people logically engaging their brains and coming to the conclusion that God doesn't exist.

Nowadays if we think something such as equality is right we will just do it because it's right, we don't need some false belief for that. This is why I think religion has now been outdated.
====================================
To you it may be false but a large number of others it's true and has helped to shape the world we live in a good way.

Do you know the effect of religion on the eradication of slavery?

You are okay in the eyes of god if you are not homosexual or a baby that is not baptised.

And if you are a priest who rapes boys...

mancinicity- My issue is that your belief that things would somehow be worse if Christianity didn't exist? What about the things the church has hindered over the years? The scientists and artists that had to retreat from public because of their lack of belief and what the church would do?
You cannot prove anything would be worse off without religion.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
and all that money and effort wasted in worshiping something with no evidence whatsoever. These resources should have been used for other meaningful purposes.

It's not ignorance..it's a made up story. Not a single scrap of evidence in the whole history of time and space. Brainwashing for the masses !
Look at the Philippines, ridiculously brainwashed by Catholicism, massive natural disaster. Where was their god then.

Didn't it all start with the stem engine, and James Watt?

Don't think he had an epiphany of any sort - he was just watching his kettle boil
