My point is you dismiss relion completley but fail to even acknowledge the good it does in peoples lives, the socail element I describe is onyl one part.

Pretty much my outlook on it too. I am not religious. At all, but I see no innate harm in those that are.
As someone else said somewhere here, good people really don't do bad things. If they do a bad thing in the name of their religion, they were never a good person - it's feck all to do with their religion.

Also, if you NEED God for morality then you're not really a nice person.

So ignorant, she was born and raised in a Catholic community and has always had God as part of her life, you not believing in god doesn't make everyone who does so sort of fool.
You just cannot understand what religion does for a sane person who believes in it because you;re too narrow minded to view it any other way, dare I say you're not being very liberal here
A believer doesn't need God to be moralwhat they do is take the fundamental teachings of their chosen text, love, peace, love they neighbour etc. and try to apply these teachings to their everyday lives.
It is the EXACT same thing as you reading an aethiests teachings on morality and applying these to your life.

My point is you dismiss relion completley but fail to even acknowledge the good it does in peoples lives, the socail element I describe is onyl one part.

I'll point out here I am not religious, I am not a fan of the catholic chuch for some of the reason you point out, however I really think you need to step back and try see it from another perspective.

They can get the same thing from it
