The Xhaka situation was as clear cut as a Fabregas through ball, everybody knows what happened. We're still in the dark about what exactly auba is supposed to have done.
I was defending auba yesterday, but to actually strip him of the armband shows it's not him just being late a couple of times.
We'll see if he leaks anything or not. His brother is usually pretty vocal on socials too.

The way I see it is losing the captaincy is a somewhat acceptable outcome given the circumstances and is surely punishment enough given the fairly lightweight misdemeanours, but to essentially ban him from playing really publicly humiliates him and makes me think there’s an ulterior motive here. If this was a player Arteta or the mgmt team wanted to keep I think this would have been handled far more gently.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Don't think your conspiracy makes any sense tbh.
a) There would be no way Arteta drops Auba if he was scoring freely. In which case why would the club want to force him out?
b) Now that Auba is not scoring why would another club pay him the wages he on? So getting him angry only means he stays at the club and does what Ozil did.
Its actually ridiculous and makes no sense to deal with Auba as they have. The best solution would have been to keep it quiet, make some excuses and ship him on loan to Barca for a year and half till his contract finished.

Hmmm… just picking holes, if the club had kept quiet about this incident and then shipped him off on loan to Barca, as our captain, I’m not sure our fans would have gone for that. If Auba were to leave now though I think there would be a reasonable amount of support. I expect there are some clubs who’d take him on even if he’s playing badly, eg. Newcastle. The club have made the decisions they have and to me it just seems to be a reasonable explanation of it… the other ones are he’s done something far worse than we’ve been told or thirdly, as you mentioned, they’ve just made a mistake and mishandled it

I see where you are coming from. The fact is we have no European football so Auba moving to Barca would in my opinion, played out as player initiated move to play in European football while he still can. He hasn't been scoring for Arsenal so I doubt there would have been a reaction from the supporters.
Now its all so unedifying and following on from Ozil makes us look so amateurish.
Laca does not have a history of carrying us so what happens when we go into another goal drought. Going to blame Auba sitting at home tweeting like Ozil?
Barca won't play in the CL next year. Even EL footy is at risk. No money. Couldnt even register players for the season. Barca and Auba - forget about it.
You'd imagine an 18 month loan is the only way Auba leaves.
Reckon he could easily end up back in the team
Whoever has Leeds next will be in luck.

I said before, I honestly don't think he'll give too much of a shiiiit. There's obviously the embarrassment, but it'll pass.
He's a joker (in the good sense). Everyone knows he's not captain material, I'll bet a part of him will be relieved.
Just depends how Titler handles it from there.

I definitely did. Leeds are a Championship side, still with Championship players who Bielsa improved. However there comes a point when you cannot do anymore and those players have been found out. So if the idea is to build around youth there is no harm in signing a well regarded coach who has experince of doing that. Doesn't mean he will succeed. But at least he has more of chance with established credentials than someone with none.
