How dare the EU try to rule Poland
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yay for Polish authoritarianism, the further erosion of the independence of the Polish judiciary, and the wider autocratic deconstruction of their constitution!
You do know what’s actually happening in Poland, right?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
For example, Boris Johnson could have sanctioned the Supreme court judges that ruled his prorogation of Parliament illegal.
Not that they would have because all the judge's would have been nominated placeholders of his anyway.
Sounds legit and definitely something Ttliv's worldview could get behind, one party authoritarianism is always a good idea, nothing could ever go wrong there.

“The fallback is the jacket potato”
ISS has told kitchen staff at 450 schools to stock-up on some foods to ensure children are properly fed through the winter.
Company says driver shortages, a lack of staff and import delays are causing supply problems.
Britain is apparently a developed country lads.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Its not developed enough.
Went to have a takeaway yesterday from my favourite local burger place, put two chicken burgers in the basket only to find out that NONE of the sides were available!!
Got to checkout and it wouldn't let me pay, turned laptop on to see the issue, and they had sold out of chicken burgers too
I had to get Jamaican pulled pork, with rice and beans instead. And it was delicious, but not what I had first wanted

I think there’s a legitimate and serious debate about what the EU should do with Poland and Hungary.
They’ve been titting about with both of them since 2018 deciding how to sanction them, and for me, there’s a argument that both countries should have had the benefits of their memberships suspended already. WWSPD will be along momentarily but I believe there are mechanisms which based on the actions of the current administrations of both states would have allowed the EU Council to act based on Article 7 breaches.
The EU is a democratic institution made up of free and democratic member states which have agreed to uphold a number of explicitly stated values. Poland and Hungary aren’t open and free democracies right now.

Lmao what that is some spin. How is "Poland's top court has rejected the principle of the primacy of EU law over national legislation in certain judicial matters" and "The Constitutional Tribunal said some EU treaty articles were incompatible with Poland's constitution" an attack on Polish judges? It is (a justified) attack on EU power grabs. Polish constitution rules in Poland, as should be the case in every other country.
I know exactly what this is, it's activist judges using the laws of a foreign entity to impose their will on a sovereign country, overriding their national constitution. That is treason. National constitution beats all and that should be the case in every country.

Well done Poland.

How dare the EU try to rule Poland
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yay for Polish authoritarianism, the further erosion of the independence of the Polish judiciary, and the wider autocratic deconstruction of their constitution!
You do know what’s actually happening in Poland, right?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Lmao what that is some spin.

The daftest thing you will read all day.

It's still early.
