It's hilarious that he would call the democratically appointed organisation of 27 countries looking to further all their interests 'fascists', over the country who's government is looking to control their independent judicial system and reduce LGBTQ rights.

What?
Poland essentially shat all over the 18th green, leaving the Commission with little option but to act.
Poland are in violation of their treaty obligations.
Bizarre you have characterised the Commission’s statement as being fascist. Poland's government has brought in legislation which enables political influence over its judiciary.
No clue how the EU operates, yet they’d tell us they knew what they were voting for.
Bizarre

Can you imagine the reaction here if the Supreme Court was filled with Boris Johnson supporters, and former Conservative MPs who were sympathetic to his administration.
That's the long term plan though isn't it?
If you forget about the elected officials, a country's right to veto, the push for humans rights and equality, the EU President being elected by the democratically elected European Council (which is comprised of democratically elected leaders of the member states), the fact that countries are allowed to leave etc. Then the EU is fascist.

Haven't the Polish government tried to introduce a disciplinary procedure for members of the judicial system on the basis of their decisions?
That doesn't sound at all like it could be abused by a government.
For any researcher of geostrategy, it is clear that European Union is a hegemon in the making. The pattern is strikingly familiar. The EU is a liberal internationalist and interventionist force, governed by a small ideological elite, and it throws its weight around. The most disastrous example of these impulses ravaged the entire North African coastline and turned Libya into a slave trade hub. It is also expansionist, having accumulated the entire real estate of central and eastern Europe right up to the Russian border by either economic or military means. It has imposed tariffs on China, punished US companies, reprimanded India and Australia on human rights, is on a confrontation course with United Kingdom, and has openly pondered its own military force. Whatever one thinks of the EU and its liberal hegemonic ideology, these are the facts.

A lot to unpack there SatNav!
In regard to economic sanctions all countries impose them as part of foreign policy. The EU just has a bit more clout/influence, and when entities are found to have broken the rule of law or been guilty of human rights abuse, it can act accordingly within it's treaties.
