To me Hull and Bournemouth are much the same.

Yup, tin pot no hoper clubs. Teirney is good enough to skip that.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Tin pot club that could outspend our entire countries teams in one transfer
----------------------------------------------------------------------
A peasant that wins the lottery is still a peasant

I'm certain when he leaves it will be £25m+.

And anyone paying that in today's market would be getting a bargain.

Moussa and Keiren have a similarly high potential, but Keiren seems to have a better attitude, and he's also made of granite, a left back and yet looks to be the most fouled player in the league, yet he rarely misses a game.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

You ain't getting 25 million plus for him.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What's the Euro millions numbers for tomorrow while you're at it?

----------------------------------------------------------------------

What the transfer record in Scotland? 12 million? That's going to be doubled is it? The financial aspect is what it is.Can Celtic turn down a bid in the 15-18 million mark? Especially if it's all cash up front. I don't reckon they can or will.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You clearly know very little about Celtic's financials.

And by the time Tierney is sold I already expect Dembele will have significantly raised the glass ceiling for fees in Scotland.

You also underestimate how big of a factor Kieran being a die hard Celtic fan plays into the fee, he will not get involved in the usual newspaper talk and try to force Celtic's hand.

Celtic have never been in a better selling position than they will be when it comes time to sell Kieran.

they deserve to be their as much as any other club.

Still can offer a higher level of football on a weekly basis than Celtic can.

He would be better promoted round the world their also. As I said didnt work out to badly for Van Dijk, Wanyama and Forster

Who is Forster? What's a Wanyama? Is that the Japanese restaurant chain thing? Never been there but have certainly heard of it, like you said, so would be good for Tierney to get similar exposure.

He's rather good, unfortunately for us.

Meanwhile we're stuck with Halliday or John at left back

Tierney isn't better than Rose though or even Bertrand.

Can I nominate this for mental comment of the year?

‘I wish Tierney all the best in his career and think that anyone who thinks playing the same old teams in Scotland is better for his football development than competing in the EPL and potentially the latter stages of European competition is a bit nuts.’

Probably just as well no one has said that then.
--------------------------------------------

Probably just as well I never accused anyone of saying it then

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah, probably why I never said you did. Just an odd comment to throw into a thread that no one else has even alluded to.

If Celtic were offered anything less than £15m I’m pretty certain the club would immediately slap a ridiculous price tag on him to get rid of the time wasters as they did with Dembele.

That would then maybe flush out serious bidders but have to agree that anything like £20m would give the club a hard decision to make meaning they either take it or turn it down knowing they have the player for at least another 2-3 years and hope his value builds.

‘give the club a hard decision to make meaning they either take it or turn it down knowing they have the player for at least another 2-3 years and hope his value builds.’

I’m not sure that’s a good approach. I mean, look at what’s happened with Morelos since January. His value must have dropped from £11 million to about £10 million in the space of a few months...

I don't want to put a value on him as it'll mean I'm starting to consider the possibility of losing him.

I'd rather lose an arm than lose KT from Celtic.

A £25m price tag is unlikely to put off most top half prem teams, that's cheaper than Sissoko!!!

If a prem team comes in for him then you should ask for atleast £40m, Ajax get that sort of money for their better players these days.

P.S. I don't think you will have much trouble keeping hold of Dembele, I can see bottom half Prem teams being interested, and surely he would rather stay and play CL football

If Tierney left Celtic to join Bournemouth, that would say be a pretty tough indictment of Scottish football. Leaving his club, winning trophies, playing CL football in front of 50,000 plus to join a club who play in front of 11,000 and aim for 40 points every season.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
not that far off Van Dijk, Wanyama, Forster all going to Southampton.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I guess. I'd argue that Saints at the time were a club that had far more room for growth than Bouremouth.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
you could argue it yeah ..... but facts will tell you they didnt and havent, prob wont

To add that they joined them to then get a better move IMO. Of which 2 of the 3 have.

I'd bet a lot of money(if I had a lot of money ) that Moussa will leave in the summer, the cup final will be his last game for Celtic.

And I think we'll get £20m for him at least.

If Dembele or KT leaves us , even if it is for £20M then it leaves us with a huge problem of trying to get a similar player that doesn't cost anywhere near the amount we sold them for ...

Difficult to replace
