I'll prefer to wait and see what the line-up is like under McLeish's first competitive game in charge, thank you. That usually gives an indication of who is first choice etc.

Hell, he even made the Champion league team of the group stages whist being in a team that basically got pumped.

That can't be true surely, Ronald thinks he was torn to shreds in every game outside of Scotland.

Surelyyyyyyy not.

what a player has achieved is not a good barometer for their ability.

Dumbfounded at that.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Edison braffheid played for Bayern Munich and in a world cup final
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Where did you get that info?!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
he came on in the final to replace Gio V Bronkhorst, 5 mins later he lost Iniesta who then scored to win the final for Spain.

Remember scratching my head why they made the change!!

When has he come up against a genuinely top player and got the better of them?

Arjen Robben.

Next

He's was top class but he's now 34 and spends loads of his time injured and they still pumped you.

EPL teams pay a premium

That's the monster they have created themselves , if they want to take the best players from Scotland as a gamble they might come good for them then I think they need to pay the price

Vvd, Wanyama , Foster , young , ledley , Davis have all represented great value to the clubs they joined even if the fees in Scotland for most of those players seemed high
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Fraser Forster is bollox, he couldn't save himself

Anything around £15 million and hell be off (if he wants to go)

I find the high price of players playing in the Spfl a bit of a joke, the standard is pretty poor up here.

Yes Tierney is a good player and yes hes had a couple of decent performances in europe, but he's still a massive gamble if a big club want him.

Probably see Burnley or Everton chancing their arm on him but thats about it.

What Scottish player has gone down to the EPL and excelled in the past 10 years?

Charlie Adam did extremely well
Macarthur has done ok
Arfield was a real threat on form but inconsistent
Naismith did ok but again really inconsistent
Robertson obviously the best of them and truly looks a class player

Who else?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Van dijk is now the most expensive defender in the world.

Why not go with who hes already chosen as his first choice, was it Robertson he pumped over to RB?

Nope, and as mentioned earlier its only Celtic fans that argue for KT over Robertson (or play some alternate system to accommodate both of them)

I also fail to see why KT being moved to RB is a slight on him, if anything it shows that he can be versatile and do a decent job.

Robertson is either left or nothing

Tierney isn't better than Rose though or even Bertrand.

Can I nominate this for mental comment of the year?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Both full internationals.
1 a CL winner in Bertrand.
The other rumoured to be going for 50m and was sensational last season.
Both long term PL stalwarts whereas KT has been rinsed in Europe but looked good in the Premiership in Scotland.

What has Tierney done to be rated higher than either of them?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

As a Spurs fan I would take Tierney over Rose. Danny is second choice at Spurs these days behind Ben Davies. He was not sensational last season either, he was injured at Sunderland in February. We subsequently won 12 of our last 13 without him, and he hasn't nailed down a first team spot since.

Bertrand barely did anything towards his CL winners medal, Djimi Traore has one FFS. Bertrand has helped Southampton nearly get relegated this season.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Bertrand has been their player of the season so, he has more helped them stay up. Not that it would make a bit of difference about the individual players actual ability. Robertson helped get Hull relegated. Now he's first choice and probably been our 3rd best player since the new year about to walk out in a CL final.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I think you will find Dusan Tadic has been saints player of the season - he is a bargain for someone to snap up.

Southampton have let in more goals than West Brom and Stoke, Bertrand has been poor.

Bear logic goes as follows:

Larrson is Scheidt he’d never make it outside Scotland
Wanyama is never a footballer
VVD is never worth £10m
Fraser Foster is never worth £10m

Tore André Flo is worth £11m
El Buffalo is worth £11m

Rangers are coming to get yeez

Say no more

So according to the Tims.

Tierney is first choice for Scotland.
Tierney is better than the Premier League's 50m rated Danny Rose and CL winner Ryan Bertrand.
This is based on 1 good game against a top player in 34 year old Arjen Robben in a game Celtic lost and performances in the Scottish Premiership.

Or according to the Bears.

Tierney is a very talented young left back with bags of potential that needs to make a move to the Premier League to fulfill that and before grand statements about being better than guys playing many levels above him can be made.
