The value of Keiran Tierney ...

Good point , he's shown glimpses of the player he can be .... his problem is he's yet to do it on a European stage and we need someone we can trust on that stage

All the European clubs rip off the prem teams, so why can't Celtic. A young player like Tierney should be sold for a fortune, especially as wages wise he will be cheap by Prem standards. This stance in Scotland has to start with Celtic as the most successful club.

You can have Alberto Moreno for 2 million.

You'd need to pay us 2 million to take him mate, and even then, I'm not sure I'd be happy.

If Dembele or KT leaves us , even if it is for £20M then it leaves us with a huge problem of trying to get a similar player that doesn't cost anywhere near the amount we sold them for ...

Difficult to replace

I think it would take a huge offer for Celtic to sell Tierney now, but Moussa is for the off, I have no doubt about it,

I'm hopeful that when Celtic sell Moussa, we'll buy Edouard and look for another young high potential player to understudy for Edouard and Griff.

I'm more worried about Rogic having a good world cup and getting some big offers.

I think other than Tierney, Rogic is our most important player and will be the hardest to replace.

Rogic leaving would sadden me greatly.

Where else are we going to get a guy who is so magnificent for 65 minutes a game?

What Paddy Mccourt up too....

Edouard might actually be more inclined to put more effort into the run of the mill games.

I love Moussa, he's a fabulous talent but it won't overly concern me when he goes.

My concern is that we don't have a single central defender that I would be sorry to see leaving.

Rogic is for the off I think, last year of his contract thats money Celtic will refuse to let slip through their fingers no way they will risk losing him for nothing.

KT will stay this year Im fairly certain of this, Moussa will be off also.

Bit off topic but just seen that boy Lassad had to retire at 32 after having a heart attack and being put in a coma for 10 days

Tierney isn't better than Rose though or even Bertrand.

Can I nominate this for mental comment of the year?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Both full internationals.
1 a CL winner in Bertrand.
The other rumoured to be going for 50m and was sensational last season.
Both long term PL stalwarts whereas KT has been rinsed in Europe but looked good in the Premiership in Scotland.

What has Tierney done to be rated higher than either of them?

This

Ajer has potential but he's still young.

Boyata is a diddy.

Compper doesn't exist.

Hendry hasn't looked great but has yet to play centre half.

Jozo is the best centre half if he would give a flook, sadly he doesn't and will be off too.

It's quite something we have managed to concede the least amount of goals in Scotland with that lot.

Lassad looked decent for about 10 minutes. Hope he's ok though.

EPL teams pay a premium

That's the monster they have created themselves , if they want to take the best players from Scotland as a gamble they might come good for them then I think they need to pay the price

Vvd, Wanyama , Foster , young , ledley , Davis have all represented great value to the clubs they joined even if the fees in Scotland for most of those players seemed high

Mate, Jordan Henderson could be a CL winner and he's absolutely awful.

Danny Rose is as poor a full back as you're likely to get down there, he couldn't stop Oscar Pistorious from swinging in a cross ffs.

As for Bertrand he's decent but I'd rather have KT every single day of the week.

I would cut Hendry a bit of slack till he gets a run at CB. Ajer splits opinion. He has a lot of attributes but he has an awful lot to learn about the positional side of being a central defender.

I'm not convinced.

I like Ajer but he dives in quite a bit, he reminds me of McMannus in that sense that you can see him diving in 5 minutes before he does it.

From what I heard Celtic are still trying to get him to sign a new contract, so I've not given up hope.

We probably need him to have a bad world cup or offer him something big before it starts, he's playing his cards right to be fair.

You'd rather have him cause he smells just like you, in terms of ability at present both of those guys are comfortably ahead.

Their CV's back that up

Jordan Henderson would make Scott Brown look like Andy Halliday if he played up here, he's much better than he gets credit for hence why he's just captained a cracking team to the CL final.

Edson Braffheid played in a World Cup final.

Stéphane Guivarc’h has a World Cup medal and won a couple of golden boots in France.

They were both scheidt.

Were either of those playing regular PL football for the majority of the past decade? No.

Dismissed

Why can't people use their eyes to rate a player rather than Wiki?

Tierney is a top drawer player with the potential to be one of the best left backs in the world, what a player has achieved is not a good barometer for their ability.

We knew how good guys like VVD & Wanyama were too without a long list of achievements.

I mean look at a guy like Le Tissier, he achieved very little but he was still a top class player.
