they should open the pubs back up to fully vaccinated people, only fair
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This is going to be the next major issue. Restaurants and pubs being asked to ensure only vaccinated people can get in. Same with holiday companies. Even shops are being discussed ffs.
Effectively still keeping everything “shut” until late autumn.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
One of the government ministers said they weren't against the idea of some kind of proof for holidays, etc, but that they were against the idea of it being necessary inside our own borders.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah. Read that.
Just need to have a plan and start thinking about it now. Also it will depend on what other countries do.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Israel and Cyprus have agreed in principle to allow travel between countries without limitations for anyone that's been vaccinated.
I think it's possible that similar agreements will happen between countries as time progresses - like the travel corridors we had last summer.

Maybe.
I see it as a combination of vaccination and proof of PCR testing to be honest.

'Maybe.

Yeah, quite possibly. The PCR test will depend on 2 things I think - one will be the ongoing monitoring of transmission from anyone that's been vaccinated, and the other will be the cost of a PCR test, if they can't provide an alternative solution to that.

Indeed
I did it to get to Tenerife back in October. £200 as I recall and I think as demand increases, the price may stabilise at about £100.
If that’s the price, that’s the price. Everything else such as flights and hotels are dropping in price so hopefully it’ll all work out.

I think it's pretty reasonable to be fair to insist on the vaccine for international travel but as usual there will be some problems with that I understand that some allergies rule you out from it and I'm sure there will probably be clashes with underlying conditions.

Unfortunately there is another factor which 'helped' that rate

Do you think that public health will improve on the back of the last year or so
Less people willing to leave the house when they don't feel great, I mean how many times have people in offices been like 'Oh I'm not feeling great but not worth staying off for' then about a week later 4 or 5 people are off unwell
More hand washing and all round cleanliness
unforced social distancing
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Unintended consequences or performance related pay. In most jobs that performance is pretty subjective so they use objective stats as a crutch. I've to lose someone and you were off 10 days, her only 2....
If you're going down take everyone else with you.

It's obviously a very difficult situation the issue when it comes to "covid/vaccine passports" is that even when vaccinated you can still get ill, you can transmit the disease.
We already know of strains of the disease that are more vaccine resistant.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That's part of the Israel test - do you still spread the virus. There's growing evidence to show that being vaccinated dramatically reduces transmission.
Also, we're going to have to live with the fact that this virus will still mutate for the foreseeable. I don't think we can keep on this road because of what mutations in the future may look like.
