Don't need to consult with anyone change your plans anytime.

Best of all not having a plan & seeing what happens.

Many's a time walking by a remote pub 10.00am chat to barman doing

his hoosework - serves you a pint Guinness on request.

It's kept me gaun these past deacdes.

Shouldh'a sent them to the Local & bought the island.

They'd have done just as well.

LA saving a fraction of what you paid out.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Maybe the LA could have bought that island with the money I saved them and used it for the kids? In fact wtf have they done with the millions cos there’s 1000s in this LA saving them the cost of educating our kids. Where’s the money? What have they done with it? Scandalous.

That's a shame - on top of the lockdown stuff.

Hopefully phone & zoom etc will ease.

And it's not Australia.

I hear ya.

One barman in the hotel beside Portrush train station was a top bloke, into his partying back in the 90's and we bonded in minutes, which is weird and wonderful.

You never be to talk to folk normally with mates,, but I found solo pub visits the way to talk to locals,,randoms and barman....when i told folk my wife sent me here, strangers, bought me drink and barman gave me more rum lol.

<1000s in this LA saving them the cost of educating our kids>

Certainly not on fixing potholes.

I have no idea but I would guess quite a lot.

But it's an Economy of Scale in reverse.

LA's have to keep places for potential admissions.

Could mean a Higher Maths class of 25 instead of 30.

Staff & accommodation only marginally affected.

Savings would be a fraction of what families pay for IS.

Maybe lower Council Tax Revenue?

Back in the 90's I lived just within Glasgow 3 bedroom bung.

4 family siblings [ me 3 wife 1 ] stayed in Bearsden.

All of them in bigger & more expensive houses.

And all of them well under what we were paying in CT.

Dispute your numbers, tmq. I’d say easily a 1000 kids at private between Bearsden and milngavie, probably more? That’s a whole school’s worth right there so capital on top of the gov number of average £6,600 per pupil per year.

That’s fine work.

<Dispute your numbers, tmq.>

Don't have any numbers but suspect no-one does.

For sure money is being saved but not direct correlation to fees you pay.

Buildings still have to be serviced.

Staff salary probably the biggest outgoing.

But that can be calibrated within the timetable.

Ony thing I can think of.

Minority of adults in Glasgow pay into the system.

And Glasgow has hostel, social work etc bills other areas don't.

The £6600 number is the Scottish LA average. 50% more if you want private.
