Btw giving youth a chance at Chelsea doesn't happen often. Jose like every other manager gave youth players a chance here and there (Ake, Christensen, Solanke, RLC, Swift, Baker, Kalas, MVG all made appearances).
Agree with what Sideshow said on some of Jose's comments regarding our youth were sooo wrong.
TLLL, I'm pretty sure Solanke and Baker have never appeared for the 1st team and Swifty only got a few minutes as a late sub in an FA cup tie.
The rest have only had fleeting cameo appearances!
Solanke played for 20 minutes against NK Maribor and Baker got the usual 5 minutes that the youngsters at Chelsea get against Derby. Not much but that's how it's been at Chelsea for over a decade.
Yeah Abraham was definitely an option Brummie but I'd have personally said it should have been Traore playing, can kind of understand Abraham not being there, would have been the same even at United, Fellaini would have played CF if fit.
For me it's definitely a bigger issue not using our academy players than it was in Mourinho's first spell. Other than Huth this season can't really think of a single player that went on to achieve anything much or was worth first team minutes, we had a pretty shocking set of academy players then, seem to remember Frank Nouble being our standout youngster!
Right now we genuinely have a youth team full of players that have first team potential, but it isn't just Mourinho that won't give them a go. Think at a maximum we will see RLC, Traore and Christesen establish themselves in the squad
