I am not saying they did not become quality under Jose but looking at that list, Ranieri did an excellent job with his signings
I don't disagree but of the signings there that became important players, several of them neither signed under Ranieri nor played under him

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Can you identify them, my list may be muddled up. I know Jose got Essien and Robben, what about the others
Mud - well you asked 2 things Mud. Iv never said Jose has brought players through the ranks, simply that he does give young players a chance IF they are good enough and those that say otherwise are incorrect.
I asked in the OP for the names of those youth players / homegrown players he has not used / wasted. Very few names are forthcoming. Hardly damming of him.
Are you suggesting he wouldn't have used Beckham, Scholes, Giggs had he been in charge at United back then?
Cech and Robben weren't Ranieri signings, and along with Cole became the players they are today because of Mourinho.
------------------
Joe Cole
Chelsea Robben shadow of the player he ended up becoming
And Cech......based on what
Cech was also Mourinho and a few of the Ranieri ones weren't great, or were Adrien Mutu
think you've possibly missed a few good Mourinho signings off there too but i agree with your point, not that any were really inexperienced youngsters anyway
Robben was 23 when he left? so not a surprise that he became much better, but no one can argue he improved a great deal under Mourinho
Joe Cole likewise became a good player for us, certainly learned not to shy away from games under Mourinho
and Cech was given his chance by Mourinho, imagine Cech himself would credit a lot of his success to Mourinho, particularly in helping him become the leader he is.
Mourinho clearly played a role in all 3 of their developments

I agree his reputation is what it is for a reason, just don't think it is one to single out, theres few managers willing to give academy players a go at top clubs than there are who won't.
Loftus-Cheek not getting a chance is more down to himself than Mourinho, even Hiddink has commented on him yet won't give him much of a go. Kid's lazy
That article may or may not be true. Having read Drogue's autobiography he'd been told by Mourinho that he was going to sign him long before hearing of Chelsea's interest but who knows the ins and outs of it.

What is the point in crying about Mourinho not trusting young players if he wins trophies? Does the positive not outweigh the negative there?
No,youth must be used, even if they aren't good enough.

Well of course it does. Short term vs long term goals.
Mourinho is not going to stay for more than 3-4 years though. I'd say just let him do whatever, take the trophies that inevitably will come and then move on.

Imagine if Jose comes in and somehow brings in Stones and Varane...we'd have the best ball playing CB partnership in the world with an average of age of like 22.
Realistically though, I'm pretty confident Jose will try to bring in one of the two as he has tried (and successfully in Varane's case) tried to sign them in the past.
It is daft, but this isn't my logic. This is the logic of those moaning Jose doesn't use youth players but can't come up with names of those he should have played.

Of which one of them can't defend very well and isn't that good at ball playing either, going by some of his recent performances.

Whose logic is it? I have not seen one poster say that youth should be used even if they are not good enough.
I suspect that is how you reason other peoples comments if they don't fit with yours.
