Jose wastes youth players

VC - do you think Jose adequately gives youth players a chance??

posted on 29/2/16

Jose plays youngsters if they are good enough. He played Varane and Zouma plenty of times and centre back is one the most difficult positions for a youngster to play. A teenager named Carlos Alberto was also a regular in his CL win at Porto.

Let's be fair how many of our youngsters would have gotten a game this season bar the big money ones (Shaw, Memphis, Martial) if we didn't have any injuries?

Read my comments on it. Maybe if you didn't keep deleting them like a petulant little boy, and you actually read them in the first place you might understand things.

Read the thread from the beginning. Varane and Zouma don't fit the criteria.

posted on 29/2/16

surely if they don't count you could even discount the likes of Alli, Kane etc at Spurs who all had first team experience too?

posted on 29/2/16

How does Varane not fit the criteria? The guy was a literal nobody before Mourinho brought him through. You have to give him that one.

VC - I only delete the nonsense posts that add nothing.

Yet again when puy in the spot you fail to clarify your position. Laughable.

And Zouma and varane very much count as young players given game time by Jose.

Zouma and Varane cost about 10 mil each. Hardly the same as Harry Kane.

It is daft, but this isn't my logic.

.............

Whose logic is it? I have not seen one poster say that youth should be used even if they are not good enough.

I suspect that is how you reason other peoples comments if they don't fit with yours.

You have form for these little tantrums.

Exactly. They were not risks that Jose was taking from playing academy players. They were already first team players when they were bought.

Not sure Zouma was intended to come in as 3rd choice, neither was Varane where he was behind Pepe, Carvalho, Ramos.

He made both important players though.

Experience wise there is little difference between Alli, Kane, Zouma and Varane.

Personally i would value ability and experience over price.

VC - Iv read your contribution to the thread, and apparent from Loftus Cheek not getting more game time (already addressed by a Chelsea fan) your post ion in if Jose adequately uses homegrown /academy players isn't clear at all.

I'm also puzzled as to why Mikel, Zouma and Varane don't count as young players Jose has given a lot of playing time to.

One thing we can take from the players mentioned Jose has bought through is that they are all strong, athletic and way ahead of their peers in terms of those features.

...........

It is one of many of Jose's good traits in that he can spot exactly the kind of player he wants to play his system.

The only one I could never get is why he wanted Rooney. Or Gerrard maybe.

Probably have the experience Sideshow, bar Christensen right now not sure any are good enough yet. Even the better youngsters like Kalas seem to be failing to properly establish themselves

This has been explained to you.

Simon - what rules have I changed and what point am I manipulating to suit my argument?

Vc- yeah, why would Jose want a player good enough to be a mainstay at United and to become their leading goalscorer despite not playing as a CF

posted on 29/2/16

I don't understand how anyone can literally not give Mourinho credit for Varane. The guy threw this untested teenager into games vs Barcelona etc. and that's not him trusting youth? How?

VC - It hasn't. I'm not the only person involved in this thread asking you to clarify this. Read the thread and get back to me on why Varane and Zouma dont count as young players Jose has given game time. I can't wait for this.

I can only guess you do not understand this comment.

'It is one of many of Jose's good traits in that he can spot exactly the kind of player he wants to play his system'.

Which bit don't you understand?
