If they did an Obi film it would have to cover the Darth Maul storyline , which seems to have been in the cartoon.

If you mean covering the existing established storyline, that'd be hard to do. That's a 20 or 30
Year revenge plot crossing many other storylines.

Maybe they could shoehorn a new Maul/Obi-wan story into it now with Maul and Jabba on tattooine

I think the joke intially worked, but fell flat and weird at the same time. Now if they made it a running joke, where behind Lando’s back, L3 keeps making these comments, alluding that they are more than ‘friends’, so when they then talk to lando, it leads to funny dialog and innuendo. So then when L3 dies, and its brought up again, its only then Lando realises what they have been thinking and hes like ‘you lot are crazy’...
i dont know why this had to be a thing.

The more i think of it, the more this shouldve been a flat out comedy.

ok, when i say comedy, but in that tone of 48hrs/lethal weapon.. i'm not talking trading places or blazing saddles haha.
he can still be the cool tough guy, and the threat/villain still be serious.

I concur.

Classing Lando as bi is bad enough in my opinion because there was nothing in the originals that signalled that particular orientation. We saw him with Leia and he came across as a smooth and stylish ladies man. It would be akin to making a young Luke movie and having him being bisexual.

Introducing gay,bisexual or pansexual characters is fine but don't alter established identities in the universe.

Solo has been classed as a financial flop. I'm not surprised to be honest and it now raises questions about how long Kathleen will be at the head of this ship.

I'd imagine she would step down post episode 9 but who could take the reigns? Ideally some one that is a fan of the franchise but can the fan base be put together again?

Give control to Dave Filoni. The guy's wonderful. Seems to be a true fan with a fantastic knowledge of the universe and ability to link everythign together nicely. done great stuff on the animation side of things, so I would love to see where he could go with live action.

It wasn't terrible by any stretch but there was some horrendous decisions made on this file, mainly casting

Paul Bettney's character was pointless

L3-37 was annoying

Not enough Lando

The studio needs to do a Obi-Wan film rather than Bobo Fett, there's not much else they can cover

It certainly an interesting situation. The Box office is disastrous.
So many angles for Lucasfilm to consider.
Was it fan backlash? Was it poor marketing? Should it have been released in Dec?
But imo, i’m not calling for Kennedys head to roll.
Her track record allows her a blip.
Thats not to say there are legitimate reasons why fans are questioning her.
Star Wars becoming a pollitical outlet doesnt sit well with me either. The reaction to fans, calling them sexist and whatnot, is appalling. And Kennedys silence isnt a good stance.
But rather than just fire her, maybe she’ll listen and ease off the gas on this agenda.
Just give us great characters and great stories.
Star Wars shouldnt be this hard.
But theres no way i’d have Dave Filoni take over.
Hes a creative. Theres many more qualified than him.
Maybe brought in during the script process, but CEO of Lucasfilm? Nahh.

Saying that, if she calls for a reboot of Indiana Jones, and recast Indiana?!?

Solo > 7/10

It’s a good action adventure film. No more no less.

Surprised that I actually liked Alden Ehrenreich as much as I did.

The end was a bit lame and Maul turning up seemed out of place and must only been used to set up something further along.

The train part was excellent though.
