The reason why TLJ made so much money is because people had high expectations when they went and saw it, then couldnt believe what they'd seen so had to go to at least one repeat showing to fully take in the horrors on show

Me personally I hated the film and saw it 3 times to fully establish my hatred for it. Saw solo with a free ticket quite reluctantly a few days ago and have no appetite for episode 9. The powers that be at Lucasfilm need to change and fast or star wars will be dead and buried

TLJ was a film that divided the fan base but it made big money at the box office.

It made nearly a billion dollars less than its predecessor. That's a failure - no doubt about it.

TFA had it's faults but it still felt like SW whereas TLJ is this alien film that I think has inflicted an irrecoverable wound.

If the return of Luke Skywalker himself couldn't entice punters back to the cinema for repeat viewings then don't expect the likes of Rose Tico and Commander D'Acy to win everyone over.

I also read a comment on here that Disney has made 'x' amount from the films. Don't forget that cost of making and marketing them. It's closer to 2bn than 4bn.

What really frustrated me with The Last Jedi was how they pushed an idea that you don't need to be Luke Skywalker to be a hero. Just about anyone in the Galaxy could be too. Pathetic - that is the entire point of Luke Skywalker. He was the unlikely hero. A farmboy that saved the Galaxy from the evil empire.

Now it's all undone to push social justice and liberal views on the world. That's not Star Wars to me.

This may of been addressed already, but can’t be arrsed to check back.
So my question, considering Yoda interacted with the real world by burning the tree, and that Obi-Wan was able to sit on a log in ‘Return of the Jedi”, would it be so silly to have a Kylo Ren fight a certain Force Ghost?....

I really likes TLJ and have no problems with the Yoda scene as i just took it as he was one with the force. Things such as lightning are a part of the force so why wouldn’t he be able to interact with them?

However on the topic of Kylo fighting Luke’s force ghost I’m with Guv. No thanks, that would be really cheesy to me and would detract from Rey’s story, who this trilogy is about along with Kylo.

Force ghost Luke mentoring and training Rey? Yes please. Force ghost luke fighting Kylo? Nope.

Would be on board for Jar Jars ghost to send Ren to paintown

i was trying to convince myself, how cool that would look. but it doesn't make sense..
now all this talk of Obi-Wan in Ep 9. i just can't begin to figure out the story....
all we know is that Kylo is the supreme ruler, and Leia has passed.

I never minded him, but then again I never minded the Ewoks and liked Porgs (although thought they were overdone)

The Porgs were fine, the epic moment when the Falcon arrives, doing the 'New Hope' moment, thought was brilliant.
don't care i had goose bumps in that scene, with the music, and then the Porg getting face slammed in the cockpit.
good stuff.
Obviously as a kid, i didn't mind there Ewoks, and they were still fine as i good older. and now with Ewok Hunt in Battlefront 2, i can see how bad-ass the Ewoks were.
Jar Jar, i didn't like, but he didn't ruin it.
but i knew cos of how clumsy/adorable the character was supposed to be, i knew he was never going to die...
they hardly ever do.

I think anyone that gets seriously wound up about something like that needs to have a look at themselves as a person.

I love Star Wars, but didn't like TLJ much (probably only one apart from AoTC I don't feel like I'll ever be bothered about watching back), but the negativity is crazy.

Read something about how the fanbase has sent Jake Lloyd into depression, got Hayden Christensen to quit acting, caused a few people to shut down their social media accounts. All pretty ridiculous.

thats the thing... the young'uns were at first getting blamed for all the social media trolling but then the middle aged are getting it in the neck too.
