Spurtle, exactly my point. The blind delusion and almost cult like following some of these Spurs fans on here have of Levy is frankly embarrassing. It’s like you can’t criticise the special one or moan about lack of signings because he’s done “great things”. We will never truly move forward with him and this regime. I predict Pochettino will eventually get fed up and move on. Let’s see all the “bed wetters” and levy lovers on here make all this noise then.

Pochettino is the best thing to happen to Spurs certainly in my lifetime. The hierarchy are doing nothing to convince him that Spurs could be for him long term if they are not properly backing him when it matters. His “ we need to be different in the market “ quotes was proof in the pudding and any Levy lover can deny it all they want

Don, I have no faith in Levy. I'm accepting that nothing will be done in this window already. All my faith is in Poch and he will have worked miracles to achieve success this season.

Honestly all these injuries during this transfer window is like a message from God to Levy to make a signing and he's turning the other way. There is no point relying on him.

Yep 100%. There was no excuses as to why we couldn’t go out and sign reinforcements last summer. Every man and his dog could see Spurs needed extra quality in depth, but the club failed to address these issues. Sorry, but I’m not having this bulls*** of ..” but we couldn’t get “ ... what a s*** defeatist small time attitude. No wonder why we never actually achieve anything when some of our supporters bury their head in the sand and just accept if. It was a shambles not signing anyone, simple as. Everyone can see apart from a few deluded Spurs fans. Like I said, if we get top 4 and win a trophy come end of season without any signings, then I will be the first to come on here and say “fair play I was wrong” , but if as predicted it starts to go pear shaped because we haven’t rectified clear squad issues.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Its about context. Its about our financial constraints. Already punching above our weight and sitting ahead in the table of Chelsea Arsenal and Man Utd whos finances blow ours away. Building a massive new stadium which will help close that gap, coping with the problems of that which will no doubt effect us.

IT is clear to anyone who has any appreciation of running a business that THFC have to control their costs at this time. This will not necessarily preclude us from spending Big, it will likely see us stop short of stocking our squad with players who will be used little and are thus a total waste of money. Spurs can afford to spend money they cannot afford to waste it right now.

SO, as we all sat there in the summer wanting Sisokko gone, wanting an upgrade of at least one FB and probably a CM, others wanting Lamela replaced or Llorente....the fact none went makes it difficult for us to replace them. Its probably not such a case that we need to buy to sell, in the sense we need to raise money, more of a case that we need to control costs of which wages are a massive part.

We can't buy Fred for £57m and have him and his +£150k week wasting on the bench and often not even the squad.

Our purchasing has to be selective. The right player, the right type of player, at the right age and for the right price. Sanchez is the perfect example.

We cannot go out there and blow a club a way with a stupid fee and the player with sky high wages.

There is a difference between being skint or tight and being highly selective about what you spend money on. IN our situation we cannot be wasteful.

We're third with a massive injury list and have been suffering key injuries all season. Still coped. Still in 3 comps plus 3rd.....look at some a few places below us.

I do not deny that we need to improve the squad in a few areas but Spurs have to operate in a certain way, we do this over time, and cannot afford to waste money. THis is the reality, not defeatist or "small club". This is how we are and how we have been for many years.

Devonshire, then we have to adopt a different approach. We are not going to be getting top 4 and be successful if we follow this same approach unfortunately. We have to get with the times and if this leadership can’t progress the club any further, then I would like someone else to come in who can. We are lucky to have such a fantastic manager but it’s getting to the point of him doing all he can with the resources provided. A different approach has to be made for us to move forward, it’s as simple as that. Unless you eventually want us to fade away in a few years ? Which is exactly what will happen

He's so unconvinced he signed a 5 year contract 9 months ago.

Don't pretend to know you know what Poch is thinking. You don't. You think he went in to all this with his eyes shut. Think he & Levy do not talk, have a strategy. You think he doesnt know what constraints he is working under? or is surprised Levy can't pull £100m out of his arris for him to spend on whatever?

Look at Arsenal. Can afford nothing more than loan players. Paid for Stadium. £2m extra revenue every game compared to Spurs. Can't get over paid players off their books. An average squad half of whom need replacing. It aint as easy as "go out and buy, no excuses!"

The stadium is simply astounding. Levy didnt do the wiring of the safety systems, didnt appoint the guys who did. Yes a fecking nightmare but blaming him is like you employing a builder to build your extension and then you getting blamed when the electrical sub-contractor fecks up your wiring and it all needs re-doing! Its a demented argument that just makes you sound bitter & prejudice.

Well you might do, but I’m not accepting a club supposedly fighting for the title and in the CL go a whole summer and not sign a single player. It’s scandalous and I can’t believe Spurs fans are actually defending it. I have never said let’s go out and spend 200 mil on Messi have I ? How any person on here can’t grasp the fact that some of us were really annoyed by our lack of activity in the summer and now feel it’s all coming to fruitation with all these injuries. I’m not going to change my opinion and I think the hierarchy have been a mess with the lack of activity and lack of proper communication in regards to the stadium. They can thank their lucky stars they have a fantastic manager in charge keeping all this afloat. If it weren’t for Poch, god knows where we would be.

You'll be fine.

The key to your success has been getting the right players in when you did and hiring Poch.

Chelsea, Arsenal and United though they have spent more (and in Arsenal's case, gone broke), they are clubs in Disarray and transition.

The problem would be when they sort that out. Put it this way, Chelsea have won two titles during the best Tottenham team in the last 30 years. They also have yo-yoed up and down the PL league places. United finish above you last season. Liverpool below. One sorted out their act and got players in. The other had Jose self destruct as it was his third season.

If you carry on as is, you have to hope the other clubs like United, Chelsea and Arsenal stay in turmoil.

As I did not see the match I am unable to comment on the performance. However a win is a win and I will take a scrappy one every time if necessary

Just enjoying a nice beer on Elizabeth Quay in Perth, temperature a balmy 29c😎 time here is 1.40pm, so most of you still asleep I would guess.

Hi Genius, hope you are enjoying your holiday. Spurs didn't play at all well. But ground out the result with so many players missing, and Dele going off injured, has to be commended. But a win is a win.

Back to your holiday, I noted all the places you were going to visit, Perth, Brisbane, Auckland, I have visited all of those places back in the day, you will love New Zealand, if you can get around it a bit, I spent a couple of years working there.

Hi Sandy

Hope you are well?

This will be my sixth visit to NZ, although this the me we are spending less time there and the Bly North Island.

Read this morning that we might be looking at Andy Carroll, which is a scary thought 😳

Llorente clearly won’t be main striker. We had no option today. Lucas Moura will be when fit. And then son will be as soon as he’s back

Don. Whats wrong with you ?

How the fack is the stadium delay levy’s fault? He hired people to do a job and the people that he hired have facked it up. He could have managed communication better with the fans but are you expecting levy to physically build it himself.

“Can’t even get the stadium right”

You are talking like it’s a Lego model built in his front room... it’s one of the most complex and modern stadium designs in history you plank. Sort yourself out and stop posting such absolute drivel. You are embarrassing yourself

Don's point is that Levy is paid (or pays himself) to know who to hire to do the Stadium job.
And he obviously hired the wrong people.
Incompetent people.
Who did not do the job, right or on time.
Hopefully Levy has a contract clause which will get money back from the contractors for the over runs,.....
but maybe Levy is not even competent enough to have such a clause in the stadium contract.
Too bad, because the money back would buy us the players who should have been bought last summer, and are badly needed now.

Don’t be surprised if we don’t sign anyone. Do you think Levy will overpay when clubs know we’re desperate, probably be a loan more than anything

even a loan would be welcome ... for a good player, someone who fits right into the team.
We are getting threadbare, thanks to Levy's no new hires policy.

Just who’s out there to fill a gap, I honestly think we’ll
End up with youth and Llorente for now.

Just keep Llorente out of our own box

Thudd, no I don’t think Levy will sign anyone mate.

Chronic, missing the point entirely. I know full well Levy hasn’t physically built the stadium ffs. It’s the awful lack of communication and blatant lies towards the back end of last season that I have a problem with. He has totally taken the supporters for a ride and none of you can actually see it

So you are now suggesting that as business man levy is incompetent. That’s laughable in itself tbh. No response needed. You have just discredited yourself.
